Just got back from a week in Cornwall staying in Carbis Bay. We did this walk Friday 22nd it was so lovely, especially for our dog who enjoyed himself more than we did. The buildings were beautiful all covered in Ivy and moss I coundn't stop taking pictures. I have to say I didn't feel spooked out but I didn't know it had a reputation of being hunted. Maybe I would feel differently next time as I will definetly return and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature and history combined. Thanks for all the added info.

Really beautiful location, with the water and greenery. Plenty of shadows to creep up on you. Friday I drove 8 hours across the Arizona desert back to S. California. Plenty of abandoned mines in both (gold, silver, borax), but most are dry, dry, dry. I love exploring along with you two in pretty Cornwall and appreciate how you always include history, humor, and local color.

Thank you for the great video from the powder mill, I love someone who has been recaptured by nature. The green nature with the brook and the ruins looks great. The best thing was at the beginning of the chestnut hedgehogs with you in Cornwall there are also sweet chestnuts, I love the trees because of the colors and to collect and eat their chestnuts. I'm already looking forward to the next video at night. Until then, stay healthy and best regards from Germany Günter

Hi Sarah & Andrew great to have some industrial archaeology along with beautiful scenery. Explosive works had tall strong walls and weak roofs so that any blast was directed upwards to protect other buildings. There was a massive explosive works in the dunes near Gwithan.

Just when I thought what a boring cold wet day, your cheerful smiling faces appeared, what a wonderfully Interesting walk round a disused eighteenth century gunpowder industry, all that machinery and wheels and tracks still there covered in moss and lichen, it’s amazing how nature reclaims everything when left unattended, and those strange letters scratched into the walls, I fair got the shivers when Sarah thought she heard something and I believe from the look on her face she did! the whole place seemed rather atmospheric and spooky! Mr.four paws seemed very interested in Investigating also, just imagine the history of all those buildings and employees, they must have walked for miles from one building to another, it’s mind blowing, also knowing of many people loosing their lives is quite a sobering thought, So no night walking 🚶 Andrew! We have some very interesting history on our small island, thanks to you both you keep bringing it to us! I’m glad in a way I’m not with you on this piece of earth as I’m susceptible to strange ‘phenomena’ as I found out on more than one occasion 😱 well thank you 🙏 Sarah and Andrew for a trip into the unknown, I feel a bit creepy all of a sudden! so until the next time, take care, from a rather jaded english rose 🥀🤗

I so enjoyed that! ~ a fascinating industrial history, and very atmospheric with all the vegetation reclaiming buildings that once teemed with people! It wouldn't surprise me some indelible echoes of all those personalities, their joys, their energies and sorrows persisted. I've always found woodlands a bit creepy (don't know why) and am always glad to have found my way out of them. Mind you, the soothing gentle flow of streams & leats does alleviate matters. BTW Sarah ~ your beautiful watercolour of St Michael's Mount & Causeway safely received thank you! The draughtsmanship, fine detail and colour palette are absolutely exquisite ~ definitely has pride of place! (will leave a review on Etsy when I work out how to!) x

Hello Sarah …or is it Yvette and Andrew! Love the haunted specials. I have had a few haunting experiences from a previous home with strange noises and bangs at night, 2 cats left home after hissing madly at the dining room ceiling on more than one occasion and once when I was in bed it depressed as if someone had sat down beside me. It was a scary time. Found out my sister had messed with a ouija board one evening with friends without our knowledge. That’s when it all started from. We eventually moved! P.S. as previously mentioned in today’s comments, Bodmin Jail would be a great spooky place to visit, but not forgetting the horrendous suffering that took place there. Interesting but also some people’s very sad stories to be found there, incarcerated for stealing an apple or a loaf of bread because they were starving.

Tnx! That was pretty cool! Bring a torch and go at night, tho?? Eek!!!👻 I saw a ghost as a child, Only at night. He always did the same thing. He would walk a paper bag of groceries toward the counter, set it down, pull out an apple, lean back against the counter, cross his legs, (in his blue mechanic-ish overalls) and start to eat his apple while he faded away. Always, the apple. When raising my daughter, we lived in a row house. A long string of connected homes. So, when we started having a ghost problem, I was worried it could come from anywhere and from anyone within the building. I asked the handyman one day, had anyone ever tragically died. He asked if I quite often heard someone scream and fall down the stairs, like the neighbors did, because an old lady DID fall down their stairs and died, long agp. I didn't think it was the same. I explained that we heard pitter patter of feet on the stairs, balls rolling or bouncing. The cat would jump in the air, to play or joyfully prance and chase something down, right into the wall. I would hear "Mommm!" When I was alone. Laughter. But then, the weird shit started. Doors slamming. Lights, TV going off and on. One Christmas, while we watched a movie, the tv went off and on and off and a pair of unlit candlesticks on top of the entertainment center few off, across and slammed into the front door. (Great! My kid screaming bloody murder!! Thanx alot!!🙄) I told the old man that I think its boy and he likes to play ball. He seems to want more attention. The old man's eyes lit up!! He told me that no children had died in the building, but, when he was young, the property was an old, kinda muddy corner where boys made it a ball field. A boy had died there. He was eight years old, was running around the bases after a good hit and died, running. Right on the spot where the building was built. He had a heart attack.😔 Needless to say I had to seek intervention and resolve the issue. That is a story in itself, but, it eventually worked. Years later, through archive material, I saw an old black and white video clip of boys playing ball, right there, on that spot. A make shift, muddy, little, corner baseball diamond.

Great video guys, thing is i went for a visit today for the first time in my life (lived cornwall all my life) anyway on the top walkway i had a weird thing happen…. There was i promise nobody near us at the time and i was walking along and i seen a thin stone standing up balancing on its point on top of a stone flat on a tree. I thought someone did it first of all so i went up to it. Went to take a picture of it and wind blew it over? Question is there was NOBODY near us at the time very quiet and it was very easy to get blown over. So how did it survive till i got there? Who did it? And why blow over right in front of me? I put it back up balanced only for it to blow over in seconds, but again the first time there was not a soul near us? Beautiful place but i felt watched, defo after the stone thing
