I love how you get sincere character moments (like Baby Billy with his son or BJ as the only one who stands up aganinst the Gemstones even if his behavior was played as a joke before) but you are reminded almonst instantly that these characters are douchebegs and no people to root for (except BJ)

I saw a random ad on the Eastbound and Down FB page news feed about it returning for Season 2, and wondered how I never heard about this show. I binged through season 1 a couple months before the start of season 2, and now seeing both I can't wait for a third. Yeah, being limited in episodes makes me want a couple more per season, or if they extended the runtime of each episode, but then they may fall into the trap of fluff and filler. I do think they end up telling a great story and a complete one in the time they have per season.

I’m a Christian but am not a fan of most Christians or the church at all for many of the reasons you’d expect, so I can appreciate this sort of commentary! This cast is stacked and most of HBOs series have been pretty good in my opinion so I’ll probably give it a shot!

I'm from SC and am currently in New Ulm, Minnesota attending a school for ministry (Lutheran). Def agree with you on the weather! this crap is awful. But as a guy who's going to be a pastor, I have to say that the show is hilarious. A little too raunchy, but my denomination opposes the corruption that seems rampant in the megachurch movement. Other than making it seem like most Christian pastors are money grubbers, I don't find the show's portrayal of religion to be offensive at all. It's displaying the abuse of religion.
