As an American lover of the original UK HIGNFY, this show makes me so happy. Roy Wood Jr is a perfect host (his guest spot on the British version was great, too) and I can’t get enough of Amber. Hoping this show has a long run, and there are more episodes uploaded to KZbin, please. 😊

This, as far as I know, is the first time an American version of a British panel show actually hit the mark. And, Roy Wood Jr. is, IMO, a huge part of why. He also did great when he hosted the British version. He fit right in, and did US proud. Amber and Michael are equally awesome pics for the part. Well done, Hat Trick!!! 👏Bravo!!!🏆 I love this show, and I hope it runs for a long, long time.

@Facetiously.EsotericАй бұрын
@@Charity4Chokora What does that have to do with my post or it's point? Why are you trying to change the subject? Does one person's opinion on a TV show bother you so much you have to respond illogically?
@Charity4ChokoraАй бұрын
@@Facetiously.Esoteric Oh, hit a personal biases nerve. My request for objective logical argument over a subjective argument has been called illogical. My point, this very respons of arrogance, hubris stinks and if you want to make a nasty comment as a response I will make a 100% neutral request. Think about it, you made a claim for a theory, based on a subjective argument. I just requested you expand on your claim, I offer you time and energy to listen and reply. You are exactly what I thought you were though, angry you can no longer enslave and colonize. How about giving back all the stuff you stole and taking great off your name you hate filled racist!
@laurelbeach4529Ай бұрын
@@Facetiously.Esoteric To be fair, Charity4Chokora’s response is about as relevant to your statement saying the show in the UK is better (even though most people can’t watch it legally in the US) as yours was to OP’s statement specifically praising this show. C4C is pointing out that saying the UK version is better could be considered arrogant or rude when no one asked for your opinion on another show. You may have been trying to spread enjoyment of the UK version with other people who might also appreciate it rather than implying anything insulting, and the UK show has been around for over 30 years and everyone involved has had more experience in entertaining the British audience with this format. It’s not that you’re wrong or that you deserved a sarcastic reply, but maybe consider how your statement sounded when read by someone else. A better approach might have been, “You may also enjoy the British version of the show that this one is based off of. Roy hosted the UK version last week.” As someone who was a bit wary of US versions of UK shows (they can be hit or big miss), I am pleasantly surprised by this show. I love Amber Ruffin and Roy, who both have experience with improv, standup, and comedy writing. I am less familiar with Michael Ian Black’s more recent work, but I think they have a good rapport. I like both the US and UK versions for different reasons. Ruffin is able to share joy in even very depressing news, while the UK version is able to be both darkly satirical and silly.

You prompted me to look it up, and I gotta thank you. I get where the confusion comes from, there were a lot of headlines about her passing the "baby bar," and I don't think most people know what that means. You are correct she did not finish law school or pass the bar. This was really fun to look up, and that's why I owe you. It sounds like she abandoned the program but can't admit that publicly, and I found this delightful quote (from an anonymous source, so grain of salt): "Last year she slowly realized how tedious it was and how never-ending the study was,” the insider shared. “She can’t drop it without looking bad, looking like she couldn’t pass it after all the work and all of her talk about how passionate she was about pushing for prison reform.” … “She really struggled with the study, hated having to do the outlines and essays required to even be at a competent level and it was going to take her a few years of study to pass the exams and a few likely fails,” the same source claimed." I genuinely wondered if I had misjudged her when she was actually following through with law school, but her realizing "wait this is HARD" and not wanting to do it but also not admit it bc it might look like her principles are fake... yeah, that checks out 😂 She's not actually worried about how she can still promote criminal justice reform if not personally a lawyer (that was never her most effective route!), just how it will look. And how the hell do you think law school won't actually be hard and involve failure? 😂😂😂😂 Seriously, thank you stranger!

It's driving me crazy that Peppermint Patty is NOT a character in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. I'm dying to know if this was a writing mistake, if John Roberts doesn't remember his own role, his high school changed the play, or he's deliberately changed his story bc of the massive differences between the original Patty and the domineering Peppermint Patty (by far the funniest option). But I know this question will never be answered, nobody cares but me. (there's no chance anyone who played Patty could ever forget this distinction without deliberate self-delusion, it comes up over and over and over again through the entire rehearsal and performance process. The play predates the introduction of Peppermint Patty as a Peanuts character, but includes Patty, a meek character who disappears as a feature after PP shows up. This causes endless confusion, which the cast must constantly clarify any time the play is discussed. It's the only thing I remember from my high school production.)
