Let me share a couple of stories when it comes to Filipinos and money. This is not at all an indictment against ALL Filipinos but it demonstrates what I mean, and these come from my own experience. A good friend of mine's parents paid for the whole family to take a vacation to the PI one year. Because both his parents are from there and still speak the language, he could have passed for a well-to-do native if he didn't talk. They were out one day and a young boy figured out he was an American. He asked my friend to spare a few pesos, to which he obliged. Next thing you know, he was surrounded by people with their hands out. He was pretty scared, and the family was genuinely scared for him. Not sure how that scenario ended, but he learned to be discreet after that. When I was a college student, I began corresponding with a Filipina and we had talked about "maybe" meeting in person with that possibly leading to her coming here to the States. We wrote and talked on the phone as much as we could. Video chatting was very limited back then, and I don't believe she had a computer to be able to use email. The whole thing, as it turned out, was a big setup. She was telling me stories about trying to support her mother and her brother by working the only job available to her, in a fast food restaurant. Okay, interesting. Then she dropped the bomb: She wanted to open her own pool hall but had no money to be able to afford it. But, I could send her the money she needed, right?!? Sorry, I was a college student at the time. I had a little bit of money but not nearly enough to help someone open a business. You could feel the air being let out of the balloon, because her tone immediately changed. As soon as we finished our conversation, I hung up the phone and never heard from her again. No phone calls, letters, nothing. The entire thing was a ruse. She didn't care about me. She just wanted to use me to get money and to escape a life of poverty. Look, not everyone is like this, but there ARE people like this in the World, with less than honorable intentions. Protect yourself. If you find someone trying to use you as a bank or even an ATM, like the lady said, you owe them nothing. Don't be afraid to walk away. Find someone with whom you can have a deep connection, who will appreciate what you have to offer. Trust me, she will be worth it. And if she's on the level and you can afford it, you can see about a small stipend for her parents or maybe a sibling. Nothing wrong with that, if that's what you would want to do for your own family.

Sad but this is the reality. So everyone must be very careful and vigilant when communicating with someone online. We were not stereo typed as “gold-diggers” for now reason. Really sad but that’s the fault of some Filipinos. About the first story, I have somewhat similar experience with my American husband. When he visited me and we went island hopping, some vendors are trying to charge him more that the usual price of the goods. My husband was excited to buy them but I had to stop him because what they were doing is unacceptable and shameful. I don’t know want it to perpetuate. Beware of establishments/people who put different price tags (Local price & Tourist price) for their goods.
@lindseysummers5351 Жыл бұрын
@Arlene LiWS Yes!! A dear friend of mine married into that family, and they paid for his plane ticket for that trip. His father is from the PI and his mother is American. That is exactly the way vendors treated him, charging two and three times for their goods that they would charge for locals. His in laws helped him out in those situations so he didn't continue to get fleeced. And I appreciate your understanding in my commentary. I hate thinking I am stereotyping or badmouthing a whole group of people. I married in to a Filipino family (my FIL is from the PI but my spouse is American), and I have other family members from the PI. Filipinos are such wonderful people, very warm, always smiling, and full of life. Some of the food is great but some...I can do without. And, y'all definitely know how to throw a party!! But, like you said, some folks don't act in the best of intentions.

Your videos are all very intelligent. I like to watch every video of yours. I have a question about this money issue. Of course, every man wants true love, and true love should not be contingent upon money, but true love usually happens between people of similar age. When Americans go to Philippine, they typically want much younger age, often 30 years younger. How likely do you think that true love can happen between couples 30 years apart? If it is extremely rare, then an old American guy may have to spend 20 years to search for such a true love. He may not find one before lying in grave yard. On the other hand, he can definitely find a Filipina of similar age, but such a woman is typically a single mom who has several pre-existing children, and perhaps many pre-existi8ng grandchildren. The guy will still have to pay for these pre-existing children and grandchildren. Perhaps he will have to pay a lot more money to such a woman than to a truly single young girl. In short, I find it very difficult for an old guy to escape the money trap. If any one has a success story, please let us know.
@ArleneLIWS2 жыл бұрын
Your concern is really valid. But it’s not impossible to find someone that’s 30 years younger than you and has no pre-existing kids. One of my very good friends is a testament to this. She was 24 when she met her husband who was 30+ years older than her. They now have 2 kids and have been happily married for almost 10 years. I have released a new video about mitigating the risk of divorce rape. Please check it out if you have time. Thank you for watching my videos!

@@ArleneLIWS I like to hear such a good story. Is the current husband the biological father of the two kids? Does she have pre-existing kids? To be honest, I don't like to raise other man's kid.
@ArleneLIWS2 жыл бұрын
Yes the husband is the biological father of the two kids and she has no pre-existing kids. She has never been married prior to meeting her Western husband. And I don’t blame you for not wanting to raise “other man’s orgasm” as my husband puts it. Maybe I can help you find your Filipina. Let me know your preference and I’ll check with my single friends if they’d be interested to get to know you. I really hope you will find a good woman. Do not settle for less!
