To expand on your comment, Chris Rupp initially left Home Free in 2016 to pursue solo projects, but the opportunity to work with his sister and two other vocalists brought him back to the acapella world. He wasn't just the founder of the group, but he did the majority of the arrangements the first 15 years the group existed. Today, their producer Darren does most of the arrangements. Note to Schnell: he has a You Tube channel of his own and he does reactions to videos. However, he also will do videos from the early Home Free catalog where it's more a behind the scenes.

This is one of my favorites. Adam did an incredible job arranging! Wait till you hear their version of O Holy Night, gives me chills every time I listen (which has been hundreds of times). You thought Austin brought it in this one, you’ll be floored in O Holy Night.

The one you didn't know, was Adam's brother Chris Rupp. He left and was replaced by Adam Chance, who is known in this group as "Chance". Before Chance, this group was really good, but it was 4 tenors and Tim, with one of the tenors being the human drum kit. Chance fills the middle extremely well as bass and low tenor, freeing Tim up to show his sick range. Chance also helps out with percussion, which used to fall on Adam and Tim. I have loved them since the Sing Off, and love them even more now. Check out their latest "Warmest Winter"!

When Tim say the line "Let us bring him silver and gold" the super deep note on the word "gold" is a Growled E1! The first really low Growl note is a G1, and the one at the end an F1.

This is by far my favorite Home Free song. Tims voice is just Awesome and great !! But Austin high clear tenor never fails to give chiils down my spine !!!! Tim' s vocal abilities make it a pleasure to listen to. It comes to him naturally. It's not enjoyed as much when a singer is obviously forcing their voice to go where it is just not naturally meant to go, either low or high. I freely admit that I have been spoiled with the natural ease that makes him so special. If you watch his face when he is singing, he is so relaxed, no stress. That is what makes it just a joy to listen to. I hope you're feeling better and I hope you have a great New Year!

I’m so glad you’re back is feeling better!! I’m also happy you’re starting the Christmas music with Home Free! This is my favorite song from Full of Cheer/Full of (Even More) Cheer albums! (1st one with Chris, 2nd one with Chance, after Chris left). Adam arranged this song!! There’s so much going on in parts of the song, and they pulled out all the stops on it!! It’s amazing!!! The part toward the end of the bridge with Austin’s high and Tim’s low simultaneously is awesome!! They have 2 recent Christmas videos out. Someone below mentioned “Cold Hard Cash”, which is really delightful and is humorous. The 2nd is a live video from their Christmas special. They performed the Alabama cover of “Christmas in Dixie” with Alabama! It’s beautiful!!

He left the group and Adam Chance is his replacement. Some of their earlier videos you will see them both (Chris and Adam - House Party being the main one). What's happening is you're watching videos that were made 3 years apart or more. Check the release dates on the original videos. This is more or less what happens when you're the last one to get to the party. It happens frequently to those who have no clue. However, getting on the bandwagon late is still good enough to enjoy what Home Free offers, and this is one of their best. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer did the arrangement for this recording. He is gifted in many ways.

Welcome back...missed your regular reactions...so here's my suggestion, I think you should do a back-to-back-to back on Pentatonix to start the Christmas season. "Making Christmas" (an adaption of Tim Burton's Nightmare of Christmas; "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"; then "White Winter Hymnal"...collectively, they are only about 8+ minutes in total. These will highlight their harmonization, synchronizations, creativity, and just pure talent !! Additionally, they just released "The 12 Days of Christmas"....will surprise the heck out of you !!! This one is arranged by Adam Rupp, as you can hear on the effects and i bet "Man of constant sorrow" is also from him. Best is that it seems nobody has a limit. In special Adam Rupp who seems to can top even Austin on high notes, as i heard in "How great thou art" (maybe worth a reaction ... :-D ). For the question: It is a real christmas tree or none. This is by far my favorite version of the song. Adam did such an amazing job on the arrangement! I love that they filmed the video here in MN at the Ice Castles. I lived in Eden Prairie not far from where they filmed this video at that time. I would also check out their videos for Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer (hilarious!), Christmas Cheer (lots of fun!), and O Holy Night (gorgeous version!).

Home Free was started by Chris and Adam Rupp. Chris Rupp (a tenor) left the group in 2016 to pursue other interests and was replaced by baritone/bass Adam Chance (we call him Chance so as not to confuse him with Adam Rupp, the beatboxer). This is one of my favorite songs by them and Adam’s arrangement is superb. I love the venue too. Tim’s low notes are crazy good and we’re with you on his voice. And in that one sequence he starts out high and goes low. I know....how does he do that? Take care of yourself. We are in Colorado and it’s so dry here it’s best to use an artificial if you want your tree up for awhile. I love to decorate so I have a white tree and it’s beautiful. Try O Holy Night, Angels We Have Heard On High, Christmas from DIxie (with Alabama) for Christmas. Others I would recommend: I Can’t Outrun You, Yours (to hear Chance’s low notes), In The Blood, What We Need Is Love, Auld Lang Syne. Keep enjoying Home Free!

Chris Rupp , Adam Rupps brother is who that is, they formed the group in college together, but around 2016 Chris left the group to do a solo career and also formed a group with their sister Tristen Rupp called "7th Ave." it is mostly not acapella and most of his stuff is not either, but he is very creative and has done some great stuff. In older Home Free videos you will see Chris instead of Chance, in newer videos you will see Chance doing the baritone/bass.

If you have cats, a real one will leave sap on their fur when they try to climb it. This was arranged by Adam Rupp, Chris sings baritone and tenor, he also took over for Time in some of the bass line. What Child Is This, features all 6 guys and is under Chris Rupp featuring Home Free. It was filmed in the caves in St. Paul, Minnesota. The caves have a reputation during prohibition in the U.S., and can be touredif you visit. The run that Tim did from to reach that low growl is awesome to listen to. You'll have to watch this again to really hear all the nuances of their harmonies.

Glad you are feeling better With regard to your tree, my answer is real Tree always! I got my usual Fraser Fir but will put it up Friday (Dec. 11)-- my birthday. I haven't gone out to cut my own in years. I like the smell and supporting small farmers (I always get mine from a lot in the Detroit area that is run by a Christmas Tree Farm in Cheboygan, MI, near the straits Artificial trees are made of derivatives of oil. Real trees are the sustainable green choice. Buying them supports keeping Christmas Tree farms in business. Christmas trees as they grow add oxygen to the atmosphere and habitat for birds and other animals (evidence the Sawhet Owl found in the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. If these farms are not supported, they might be sold for some kind of development. I do understand some folks are allergic to pine, but other than that, a real tree to me is best. And most last a long time. I always keep mine until at least Jan,. 6 (Epiphany, the feast of the 3 Kings), which was also my mother's birthday. I often leave my tree for most of January and its fine. Got to keep watering it, of course!

When I was a kid I loved the real Christmas tree. The smell of pine, the sensory input of a real tree was brilliant. As an adult, I don't know if I would do it in the same fashion my parents did. Probably an artificial tree for me. If anything I might decorate a pine tree outside and have a campfire on Christmas eve, with the obligatory 1 present opening for the kids.

Oh - the reason Adam looks different in many videos is that he was growing his hair for Locks for Love. Once it got to the length needed, he had it cut off again, and now wears it short all the time.
