Fort Jesus is where the slaves masters imprisoned the slaves before they took the slaves to Middle East (Yes East African slaves were taken to Arab world and India ) Like your Cape Coast castle in Ghana

Some part of your story only applies to the coast of East Africa not deep inside kenya

Very true. Slavery in Africa started in East Africa with the Arabs especially Oman. Portuguese learned about this from the Arabs when they were in East Africa. They took it to Europe and other European countries took over

@EfyaKimora No. The very first navigators of Africa were Arabs. Then Portuguese. British, Germans and French came waaay later.

when arabs and portugese came to eastern africa, kenya did not exist..the country was created as a protectorate called British East Africa in 1890s before becoming a British colony in 1920. coast of kenya did not become part of the country till 1964.

The coast existed as Swahili City states with trade routes to the interior, upto eastern DRC. The success of the trade attracted different people, the omanis made it their own headquartered in Zanzibar. Does that take the coast away from Kenya? Research about the mijikenda, Swahili and why a river in Mombasa is called Congo river.

One more thing, each group had a different understanding of 'republic/state/country'. Using the British creation of Kenya, or omanis take over to erase the indigenous people history is unacceptable.

@@user-ys2fe2is4k thats correct BUT the lands that were 2 miles west of the coastal strip were declared british east africa protectorate because the strip was part of the sultan of zanzibar sphere of influence and remained so till 1964 when the sultanate ceded the strip to King George VI in exchange of recognition of rights and priviledges of muslims who lived there by the newly republic of kenya. This rights included way of life like kadhi courts and such.

@@orisenabritt on how 'kenya' came to be you are right . But no one can ever convince me that omanis came,or islam, or Portuguese, or British for coastal City states or let's say markets to exist. Those lands were made to thrive by blacks, they attracted different people who exerted their influence, some were successful others were not. So when this video is titled like it is, your argument seeks to portray it like that part was never part of kenya. If you are white it makes sense to you as that is your understanding of a state, to any black person not drunk on religion, it doesn't make sense unless you acknowledge clearly the chronology events
Magic or …? 😱 reveal video on profile 🫢
