Let me explain further to you the meaning of alata in yoruba language ata means pepper so during that time most of the yoruba women were selling in the market in yoruba language you can simply call some one who sells pepper as iyaa alata ( simply means pepper seller so Ghanaian thought so Ghanaian thought that was their name so we always referred to Nigeria 🇳🇬 alata fuo means pepper sellers so dont be surprised
