Man, I love how you don't spend the first 3 minutes begging everyone to subscribe, like, comment, and share, and just get straight to the point of the video and precisely explain everything to perfection. Ironically, this is why I subscribed, liked, and share your videos all the time with my music team whenever they have questions that you could better answer. I do all the things KZbinrs usually beg for on other channels with this one because of how professional you are. Ironic how not begging for maximum attention and just being the best at what you do nets you all the things you want your audience to do. Never change man, your channel does wonders for the whole community, your channel couldn't be any more perfect ❤

Thank you. I firmly believe this is the best way! I'm trying to be more and more myself in each video. I do often ask people to comment with questions but I'm never going to ask for folks to like and subscribe. Adults can make up thier own mind and I'm glad you agree too!

When I started production in 2018, I feared it would take me close to ten years plus to produce anything decent. Your channel Michael, has helped me take down those ten years to a very short five. When you hover your cursor over the "Save mixer preset" text, you can also drag it on to another channel. This is quite useful if you want the same compressor and EQ plugin chain (for example) on several channels. I use this "drag to another channel" trick more often than saving and loading the presets, as I've got my favourite presets built into my starting template. It's really useful to be able to drag them over when I add a new mixer channel or bus, though.

I think one thing lots of people don't know is about "browse all paramaters" in the drop down menu in fruity Bridge. It let's you automate or control any parameters inside 3rd party plugins. I like to move the knob or other control I want to automate, then click "browse all paramarers" and the one I just moved with be highlighted

Congrats on the 1M subs! When it comes to blurring stuff to create pads, I would recommend using the convolver with noise as the impulse response, that's how the effect is achieved. Convolver already has presets for that, and gives you way more controller because it's entirely non destructive and lets you change things like volume enveloppe typically.
@inthemix Жыл бұрын

Fun fact about the blur pad effect - it's basically like reverb, yeah? So there was a very similar sound made in a very similar way back in 1985, in Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush. Kate had an early digital sampler called a Fairlight CMI. On it there were plenty of samples that came with it, one of them being a short note played on a cello. She played a note with that sample (or a minor third, depending on what part of the process that harmony was created), fed that into a reverb with a slow decay, recorded that reverb, and then sampled that into the Fairlight and looped it. Then she made the attack slow, and boom, there's the drone on which the entire rest of the song sits

To optimize my workflow with 3rd party VST and sidechain, I usually add them to the database with the sidechain already set to 1, so at least I don't have to set up that every time (just have to do it if I have more than a track on sidechain). But I hope one day Image Line will put that option on top of the wrapper, plenty of room for that on that top bar. You can also use that database thing with a favorite preset already setup (for exemple my Fabfilter 3 is loaded with a high pass that just need to be turn on if I want to use it, no need to setup the curve like you do when you start with the default preset)
@inthemix Жыл бұрын
I didn’t know you could set up the sidechain/external inputs in the database. Thank you so much for sharing that with me!
@AutPen38 Жыл бұрын
One of the things I like about the plugin database is that if you set up several categories in your windows file manager, you add several versions of your most-used plugins to your 'favourites'. So instead of just having one copy of Kontakt (for example) in your database, you could have one in pianos (that autoloads your favourite Kontakt Piano), one in synths, one in drumkits (that loads a Kontakt drum kit) etc. Similarly, you could make a a category called 'Dynamic EQs' or 'Sidechains' and save different Pro-Q instances/presets in category. I try not to go overboard with this, but I find it useful to have a category like 'Synthwave plugins' in my database, so I can quickly find my favourite presets for that genre, instead of having to look through a massive list of synths, reverbs, or drumkit ROMplers that are irrelevant to that genre.

I knew a little about analyzing audio files for automation but didnt think much of it because i never tried it, but you showed me how wonderful that is, so thank you :). One shortcut that made my life easier in the playlist is the insert space option, its so fast than doing it manually. Also i couldnt help but notice the wooden item on your desk that looks like a trophy 😅 Im sorry i dont know what that is. And huge congratulations on 1 million subs :D

Thank you my friend! Firstly, the wooden thing is a headphone stand for my VSX. Admittedly it does look odd in the video/frame. The envelope feature had my shocked when I found it. A few years ago I must have spent 30 minutes tracing a similar automation to tie a filter cutoff to a printed synth waveform. Thanks for the insert space tip, that one is a really neat trick!
