Wouw! Ik zou toch zweren dat je met Nederlands bent opgegroeid. Kom je uit het noorden of het westen van Duitsland? Mijn vader kwam in 1938 uit het Sudetenland als 29-jarige Duitstalige naar Amsterdam. Hij stierf in 2000. Hij heeft altijd een Duits accent gehouden en gebruikte vaak Duitse constructies, in woordvolgorde en ook woordschat. Ik hoor het 'm nog zeggen, "Ach Quatsch!" en "Olumpiesje spelen"

It's funny how in my dialect we say "ranzido" for someone or something that is dirty/filthy and it's really similar to the Dutch word "ranzig". I will definitely remember this word!

De Nederlandse taal kan je alleen beheersen als je het van kinds af aan leert. De grammatica en de omgangstaal zijn eenvoudig, maar de woordenschat (politieke, religieuze, filosofische, economische termen) is moeilijk. Ik raad echter af om Engelse vertalingen in je geavanceerde lessen te gebruiken, omdat dit zal voorkomen dat studenten in de Nederlandse taal denken. Met mijn beste wensen.

That is not true at all I have experience with learning German and let me tell you ,german is way too harder than dutch espacially grammar wise and even the construction of the language. Despite that I managed to learn German and reach almost native speaker level in only 5 years even in complex topics like philosophy etc.., it definitely depends on your learning methods and so on .....and I guess I'll do the same with dutch

@@janibrahim1091 Thank you for your reply. I do agree with you that German language is more difficult than Dutch language. However, every person has his own experience in learning foreign languages. What is easy for you could be difficult for another person. I wish you success in learning the Dutch language. I am sure you are going to learn the Dutch language in a very short time, since German language and Dutch language are sister languages. The grammar is nearly the same, and more than half of the words used in the Dutch language are also used in the German language. With my best wishes.

En "rommelen wat maar aan" kan dat gebruikt wordt als je probeer iets te bereiken waarover jij niet helemaal zeker bent?

Ja goed opgemerkt! Meestal is “toen” een conjunctiewoord (meaning when in the pas tense) and then the verb goes to the end of the sentence because it introduces a subordinate clause. And sometimes “toen” is an adverb introducing a main sentence, meaning “then” and in that case we have inversion. Perhaps I will make a video about this!

Hoi Kim. Weer een fantastische video. [sorry voor het slechte Nederlands in deze reactie. Ik studeer nog maar een jaar, maar ik ben aan het probeeren...] Ik kende geen van deze woorden die je ons net hebt geleerd (of ik herinner me er geen). Ik vind dat mijn favorieten "lullen" en "ouwehoeren" zijn. Hoewel mijn favoriete ding dat ik uit de hele video heb geleerd, is dat het Nederlandse woord voor “raccoon” "wasbeer" is. Ik weet niet waarom, maar ik vind dat heel grappig.
