I've flown past that prohibited area many times, it's a submarine base, which is why they don't want you flying over it.

I think that it was after 9-11 they made that area more secure.

The Class C cutout at 82J is interesting, especially the chart note that when Navy Sherman Field is closed, the surface Class C reverts to Class G airspace

Out here in NM there’s a lot of restricted air space because of white sands missile range, and lots of Military Operations Areas (MOA) because of the military bases around. Albuquerque is mostly class Charlie air space.

I fly out of KUGN, by the Chicago land area. I believe it's the most busiest Bravo, and the Mode C veil covers KUGN. KPWK also has an interesting position. Also.... I wish Miegs Field was still here.

At the intersection of KASH and KMHT airspace, there is an overlapping region where about 200ft of the Delta extends vertically into the Charlie. It really does seem to be a region where both towers have control. I am told by a knowledgeable controller that this *can* happen, and in that case the higher-level tower has authority. I am also told that as a pilot I will probably never have to worry about it, the towers work it out.

I used to own a C150 based out of ISM. The Orlando ATC was not very helpful to small aircraft. Your mileage may vary.

St. Mary's is where I got my PPL while stationed at NSB Kings Bay back in 2002-2003. I was disappointed to hear they closed that airport down.

Just north of Cross city, Florida (KCTY), there is an MOA. Around that area, there are altitudes listed displayed 50/30. What does that mean? Thanks!

There is a Special Military Activity area for IR32 and IR33 that runs from coast to coast. If you notice between Cross City(KCTY) and Perry(KFPY) you will see the boundaries and the info box is just SW of KCTY. Those Alt Restrictions are for that. My cross country for my check ride was from KORL to KTLH and my flight plan had us going over that area.

Check out KCUB under the KCAE shelf. It sucks, actually. If the controllers at CAE are busy they won't acknowledge your call which leaves you wondering if you got stepped on. Eventually you realize they're ignoring you and you have to stay under their airspace. The lovely additional problem at CUB and it's not on the map is the noise abatement area because of the neighborhoods right off airport. You're not supposed to be below 1500 ft. on the NE side of 13/31.

Just became a private pilot 4 days ago and funny part is all out of KORL so I better know all those questions since that’s my airport and airspace. Bravo airspace is literally half a mile south of the airport and starts at 900ft so my first class my CFI told me if you learn to fly here you can fly anywhere else!
