Never leave your bag on the seat next to you if there’s no seats available!! We always put our bag on our lap if we suspect available seats will be few. You’ll be seen as an asshole even if nobody sits next to you. Especially if there’s many people who enter at the same time. You can sit next to someone if all the seats are taken but you should avoid sitting next to someone if there are empty seats.

Malmö public transportation is the best also. I've lived in around 10 different cities in Sweden and I was born in Umeå and even though Umeå busses are really good also I can definitely vouch for Malmö and how nice the drivers are to you if you dont have money because of legit reasons like homelessness or obvious psychiatric disorders

The rule is to not sit next to people if there are other free pairs of seats available. If the bus is full it’s not considered weird to sit next to people, but probably the first place you will sit in that case is the 4x groups of seats having someone already sitting there because they are seen as less intimate 😅

Don’t fall asleep on the bus, especially the last bus of the night. 50% chance the driver just straight up parks it in the bus park and leaves without checking if anyone is asleep. HAD TO WAIT 2 HOURS IN THE DARK BEFORE SOMEONE CAME TO GET ME IT WAS FUCKING SCARY TO BE LOCKED IN A BUS AT NIGHT

That is true but do not let the bag sit in the other seat yes we do not want anyone to sit near us but sometimes the bus is nearly full so sometimes you need to sit beside someone

True, but no bag needed. It happens that someone asks if they can sit there but otherwise all mostly correct. But, city busses now require prepaid ticket on phone only. =)

In Sweden when there is a holiday there is also Swedish flags on the bus and as a swed Idc to sit with strangers but I don’t know about other people
