Those doctor and hospital costs sound great. I think it costs me more than that to park at some of the hospitals in the US.

I travel abroad full time and your video is very helpful. I currently have a GeoBlue policy but that requires me to be in the US when I renew my 6-month policy. I might consider other options. I will check out your website for sure when time comes to renew my policy. Regarding the language barrier, I am in Japan now and I find it very hard to communicate with people there. I doubt doctors and pharmacy people speak English.

Thanks, I appreciate your consideration regarding insurance. We find Google Translate works pretty well when communicating with people in different countries if there’s no English speaker. Have you tried that in Japan?

@@WarrenJulieTravel I use Google Translate too, but it can also become tiring, especially if you're using it all the time.

Getting ready to move to S. Korea in August from the USA. No plans to move back to the US but will travel through S.E. Asia. Thinking a high deductible plan ($2500 or so). I'm in my late 60s.

Great info! So question...If my husband and I plan to travel Europe for one year, and come back home to the states a few times during that time, would we cancel the policy during the month or so that we are home, or? Also, would we continue to pay our supplemental Medi-gap insurance the entire time we are traveling, or is there a way to stop that temporarily while traveling internationally? Lastly, the out of pocket expenses you mentioned, Julie's dental cost, etc. was that your cost after the insurance paid their portion, or was that the total cost and beceause it was under your $2500 deductible you pay until you reach the $2500 deductible, then all services the rest of the year are paid at 100%?? Novice here, as you can tell! LOL! THANK YOU both! Appreciate all you do!

Should you decide to cancel your Medi-gap plan while traveling, you will need to wait for an open enrollment period to reapply. That will also expose you to medical underwriting. Some Medi-gap plans offer emergency medical treatment reimbursement while you are traveling outside of the U.S. although that benefit is typically limited to the first 30 days and is only for getting you medically stabilized. Consider shopping Medicare Advantage plans in your area. Some of those also offer emergency medical treatment reimbursement as a benefit. We are fortunate to have an Advantage plan through my spouse's state retirement that reimburses us for emergency medical treatment outside of the U.S. without a time limitation (again, only until medically stabilized). We supplement that with a worldwide emergency medical evacuation policy so that once medically stabilized, we can return to the U.S. for continuing treatment if necessary.

The response from the person below is excellent and answers most of your questions. The out-of-pocket expenses mentioned were cash payments. We did not choose to file them under insurance as they were lower than the deductible on the plan. Thanks for watching!

How do these insurances work with Medicare for travelers that will go to the states every few months?
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 2 ай бұрын
There are several considerations to consider in this scenario, based on if you include US coverage in the design, omit the US coverage, or do shorter policies for the duration you are out of the US, how long you intend to be in the US and of course which carrier you utilize. The programs may coordinate with Medicare, Medicare Supplement, etc Medicare would most likely be primary in the US.

I sent you information about Medicare Advantage Plan ; 100% worldwide coverage no deductible, no copay, no existing conditions clauses, no age cut off , air evacuation ; but the only negative is you will not make money on this very low cost or even free Medical Health Care Plan ; You Hawk Plans like your an expert ; but your information is centrally used for your need for another income source and not great advice or expert knowledge regarding health insurance ; do you even know how many claims are denied by these private insurers you talk about ; there are a lot of claims denied and many people are being hurt and scammed; this fact is something that you can easily research on the internet …..you need to stop ; you could be hurting people just to make a revenue stream…..
