When all these "sunset" palettes came out, I opted for the Smashbox Ablaze mini palette from the Cover Shot series and so far I think it beats them all, large and small. Much prettier than either UD, more shades than Petite Heat. small, packable, beautiful. So that's my vote and thanks, Emily, for another totally honest tour de force.

I really took my time deciding on a warm palette in 2017 and the original naked heat was so beautiful I almost bought it. But I know myself and I honestly wanted something half the size. My purchase ended up being another six pan of 5 mattes and a shimmer---Beauty Rust from Coloured Raine, and I love it to death, so I won't be picking this one up. If this had come out last year I think I would have bought it. I really like the idea of tiny neutral palettes that are super portable, for days when you have 5 minutes to throw a look together and don't want to be overwhelmed by choices.

I’ve never felt pulled toward any of the Naked palettes (incl. Naked Heat), BUT I did buy both naked basics & got a lot of use out of them. If I didn’t have the little Milani palette (1 similar to this), I would probably want to purchase this. This was a fantastic review and comparison. Thanks 🙏 💚💜

Sarah Walden -ha yes! funny how something as simple as the pan layout can assist or repel a purchase lol. For me it’s usually about the shades’ undertones. 1 & 2 were very warm toned & even though I wear warm tones, it’s the cool toned browns & neutrals that are most flattering on my super cool toned skin. Explains why Naked basics got so much use. I will do a “contrast-type” look using all warms, but I hv to watch out for a washed out appearance - guess it’s the same idea as very cool tones looking ashy on warmer skin tones. Hv a great weekend! 😊

If you have the Naked Heat and also the Just Peachy Mattes you're probably all set. Mixing Peaches and Cream and Fresh Picked would probably give you that orange shade in the Petite Heat palette.

I think I'd would have been on board with the Petite Heat if the colors were a yellow type color, a true matte cream, a light peach orange, keep the dark orange, a red and a black. That would have been a perfect accent palette to Naked Heat. You are awesome, Emily!

I think this palette seems great! It has really nice colours and if you wanted to add some fun all you'd really need to do is add one glitter or shimmer shade but this palette has everything else you need.

Love this tiny palette. If that light color had been intensely shimmery or glittery, people would have complained that they only want a matte highlight. Can't please everyone, especially in a small package. I SO wish the Heat palette had that orange! Beautiful tutorial!

I don't have the Naked Heat palette, and I really wanted it when it first came out. But I already own soo many eyeshadow palettes and I knew that for $66 CAN it was not worth it. The colours are so gorgeous, but I couldn't justify getting another full sized palette when I already own so many. But I am so happy they came out with this one. It's perfect! You get a little taste of the Naked Heat palette, in a smaller travel friendly size, at what I would assume is a fraction of the cost of the full Naked Heat palette (but obviously with far less shadows in the small one). I can't wait until this launches!! I hope it doesn't sell out too fast, I'm excited to get this!! Yay!! 👍👍👍

Thanks for the review, Emily! I don't have Naked Heat. I have pale, yellow-undertone skin. Pink/red shadows make me look sick. That rules out most palettes. My holy grail is the all-matte Kat Von D Shade & Light, which doesn't have a single shadow I can't use. I can wear oranges with a light hand though, so this little palette could be great for me.

I remember people who reviewed ND Heat saying that there were 2 shades that were really close (He Devil & Cayenne.... I think). And that one of those could have been dropped and replaced with an orange shade to provide more versatility in the looks we can create. I guess this is UD’s way of adding this “missing” shade....

Thanks for this thorough review, Emily! I'm trying hold back this year from purchasing high-end palettes--I have way more than I need. I am very impressed with what drugstore brands are putting out lately, especially Milani and Wet n' Wild! DEFINITELY discovered I had a matte orange shade to use with the Naked Heat palette--from higher end (Just Peachy, Tartlette Toasted, Ranaissance), to drugstore (Milani Earthy Elements, Wet n' Wild Not a Basic Peach). I will happily pass on the Petite Heat Palette!

I'm planning on purchasing the UD petite heat eyeshadow palette. I chose not to get the original Naked heat bc I don't wear warm toned eyeshadows enough to justify a $54 12 pan warm-toned eyeshadow palette, but the petite heat @ $30-ish for 6 pans is more practical for someone like me who likes warm-toned looks every so often but not as frequently as I prefer to wear bright/colorful eyeshadows.

love the naked heat ( original pallette) that I got as my own birthday present to myself and that I use nearly everyday that I use eyeshadow ( with a yellow tone brown skin color), it actually looks like quite a neutral look on my skin tone. But not getting the mini one, too similar. Plus being a high school teacher most days just have time for a foundation/ bb cream and eye liner, or a single colour and not much time for blending.
