I've had one of these for about 8 months. It's by far the easiest and simplest chrono I've ever used. I wholeheartedly recommend it without reservation. It's worth every penny it costs.

I bought one as soon as I could get my hands on one. I’ve been using it ever since and find it is very good. I think your review is spot on. And also like you said if a person doesn’t shoot much they may want to just get a cheaper option. But for the person that shoots a lot and looking for Precision, it is hard to beat. I also found a cover to protect it that can remain on while you use it. Gray Ops is the company that has the cover. I have no affiliation with this company.

Banana Ballistics just did a review of the various 7.62 NATO loadings from the basic M80 to AP and API. He had a lot of dropped shots on that episode with his Garmin which has worked well for him in the past.

Yesterday I got an error that I haven’t seen covered anywhere (not even in the manual): “POSSIBLE INTERFERENCE DETECTED. MOVE AWAY FROM LIKELY SOURCES: FANS, HVAC, FLUORESCENT LIGHTS, OTHER RADARS OBSTRUCTED VIEW.” I was by myself at an open range during day time, the only electric/electronic devices close by were my cellphone and my ear protection (I turned it off and didn’t see the message anymore, but this could be a coincidence). The range is next to a highway and many trucks have short range radios… (the type that makes speakers go nuts) I also got some low velocity “ghost shots” with the unit calibrated for subsonic pistol rounds even when there were no rounds going down range. With rifles, it worked flawlessly from .22lr to 44 magnum.

Hmmm…that does seem odd. We haven’t seen that one either.

Here is the problem I am having with the Garmin Chrono..... I was shooting 300 Winchester Magnum. The first load was a 205 grain Berger bullet and the Garmin had no problem reading the bullet speed. When I shot the Barnes 130 grain the Garmin did not give me any speed reading. I notified Garmin and they are going to let me know what I can do to fix this problem.

How accurate is it, though? The review said it was consistent, but how do you know the values it shows are real?
@ReviewThisThingАй бұрын
That’s a fantastic question. You’d have to have a control chrono that has been tested and verified by experts to be accurate to compare it against. I don’t have one of those.
