Yeah I hear they use them for massaging or something? seems a little rough for that

I don't see Hitachi here in the US anymore. It's fused with metabo even reusing the same case mold designs from ten years ago.

Every cordless rotary hammer leaks grease when it gets hot that we have brand didn't seem to matter. Makes a mess slinging it around. Don't really know why it's not sealed very good.
@BoltahDownunder Жыл бұрын
It's probably helpful to have a bit of the internal grease leak out past the striker pin at the back of the chuck, so that's probably what Milwaukee etc were relying on when they don't mention greasing it but getting it serviced. But when it leaks out of the mode switch or body? Yeah that's just annoying
@jordanalexander615 Жыл бұрын
@@BoltahDownunder mines leaking out of the pull back you use to take the bit in and out. So then its rotating at a high speed and slings it everywhere.

Can too much grease damage the drill?
@BoltahDownunder7 ай бұрын
Damage? No not really. The grease falls out when drilling. Bit get the bit stuck? Yes it can create vacuum if you have too much grease, drill and then allow to cool with the bit installed

@@BoltahDownunderso if you drill concrete every day there's dust. If the chuck is dry then the dust falls out. If it's greased then you end up with a grinding paste of concrete dust and grease. I'm struggling to find analysis video. I was hoping your video might actually test grease v no grease. Grease works well when everything is clean. But what about when there's lots of concrete bits and dust?

Many other videos say to take off the selector knob and grease in there. Do you not do that?
@BoltahDownunder Жыл бұрын
Yeah you could but that type of thing is more like an annual service rather than just general usage. Personally if I were worried about the gearbox/hammer mechanism needing grease I'd open the whole drill up & clean the old grease out before adding new stuff. The reason being you shouldn't mix different greases unless you know what type they are. They can react & dry out, which drops the oil & leaves the thickener behind. If you're not sure it's best to leave the insides of your tool to the service department

Perhaps you could, like me buy brake grease or rubber grease which is compatible with plastics usually a Vegetable-oil based grease

Well, one thing is for damn sure. I got a drill bit absolutely stuck in my el cheapo rotary hammer. Won't come out without an angle grinder. No, sir! Funny thing is the drill bit was damn near as expensive as the rotary hammer. BTW, expensive drill bit with a cheap rotary hammer might be as good (or better) than a cheap-ass drill in an expensive rotary hammer. And, do NOT overheat the drill bits or the solder will soften and the hard bits will come off and the drill bit is done. You need 2-3 drills and swap them after every hole.

a couple of drills have like a 70% power setting to start up slow...hikoki dh18dpb Bosch GBH18V-26... But maybe you want to try wet drilling with the Rotary hammer? That can keep the bits running longer. Or core drilling?
