Unfortunately that's incorrect. Schedule 9 is effectively the drone equivalent of sections 163 & 164 of the Road Traffic Act . All they need to say is that they suspect a flight took ( or is taking ) place, YOU were/are the flyer and that they suspect the drone is of a such a specification that it requires a certificate of competency (

They are NOT legally aloud to see your insurance unless you have an accident! you only have to have insurance if you are flying for commercial use, ie making money from social media or working for a company carrying out surveys ect..... its sensible to get leisure insurance just to be safe
