I bought a cut50 with the pilot arc from Amazon and I’m pretty happy with it so far. I think the biggest advantage is the lack of noise compared to a grinder, especially when working late at night.

I have that same machine. I've only used it a couple of times, so I'm not sure what the lifespan of it will be. But man, it cuts. I forgot to connect the ground cable and still cut my jeep frame through the paint and rust. Lol

I have that exact same plasma cutter. And I love it. Pre covid I paid $1200 for it at my local welding supply store. It makes some jobs so much easier and faster than cutting with a saw or cutting wheel. I found that out cutting brackets off an axle. The plasma cutter made it so much faster and easier.

Looks like a nice plasma cut but yeah we hear you with the price over the need of the cutter. We bought the Jegs plasma cutter at the shop for half the price of the ESAB and its been working great so far. Great Vid Kelly!

I got the Reboot plasma cutter off Amazon and although I'm not a hard core fabricator it's does an amazing job. The price was affordable also.

I have had a Hobart plasma cutter for about 10 years and it works great. It was very inexpensive and I've cut 1/2" steel with it. If you do a lot of fab. work it's a must have.

That's some serious money for that cutter my friend. I have a HBM cut 40 for almost 4 years now and it works awesome, it cuts everything I throw at it. I only payed 199 Euro's for it and it never let me down. In my opinion, a plasma cutter should be cheap since all it does is cut metal right . . . Thanks for sharing and keep the vids coming ;-)

I paid $250 for my Chinese Herocut 45, pilot arc, Euro connector 120/240 and connects to a CNC table. Not bad for those $250! Agree with you, for us mortals, expensive...

@@MuddyBeards4X4 I think it's the CUT50 brand. I would be curious to see you do a review of that compared to your ESAB machine. See how it holds up against a $1600 machine.

I have the Eastwood versacut 40 and the mig 180 with the spool gun. Ive been very pleased with them. Good entry level hobby equipment. Think i paid $1200 for the pair several years ago.

I just got the YES Welder Cut-55 and don’t know how I lived so long without a plasma cutter, priced at $289 and I did cut 1/2” smoothly as a test, it struggled with 3/4” though

I have an ebay special 50A cutter. While the chinesium machine I have does cut ok, it leaves a lot of slag and the cuts aren't the cleanest. It does cut 1/2" steel albeit very slowly. I'd happily pay more for a bit more power and cleaner cuts, but 8 times more? I'm not sure. I do find the plasma cutter does things no other machine in my shop does, though. I was trying to hammer out a seized pin yesterday and even the sledgehammer wouldn't push it out. I grabbed the plasma cutter and gouged a bunch of metal off the pin inside the hole which freed it enough that it yielded to a claw hammer. Awesome tool for some applications.

I have a Primeweld cut 40 that my wife bought me for Christmas, haven't tried it out yet but it had good reviews and I have a frame replacement project on my 78 cj that I'm going to start on in a few day's, I think it was around $300.00, anxious to try it out, hopefully a big time saver.

I'm curious as to what plasma cutter to get. I'm with you on the price of that Plasma Cutter ... I can't afford that, or justify paying that much. I tinker,but not nearly as much as someone like yourself. Maybe a or more indepth list of those cheaper ones ... that would probably sit in a corner till the random occasion that I'd use it. Maybe I'll just stick to the grinder way ... "This is the Way."

What size tires are you looking for? As for plasma cutters, I have a $1,000 Hypotherm (380?) that is 20 years old. I also have a $249 “War Fox” model off of Amazon I just bought this year. I can’t tell the difference in the cuts. A lot of home fabricators are having very good luck with these new, very inexpensive, IGBT inverter plasma cutters.
@MuddyBeards4X42 жыл бұрын
33x12.50x17 or 285/70/17 something around that size. Hopefully the $249 will last 20 years as well. 👊🏻

Too bad-I have 5 305 70R/16’s off my Disco sitting in the back yard I would have given you. As for the cheap plasma cutters, I totally agree with you on these new budget plasma cutters and mig welders-only time will tell. But so far I have been impressed. Your Titanium 200 mig welder is a pretty good example of that.
