Thank you. It's good to review every now and again to make sure the data still supports the approach.

Every RODI system I've seen is crazy expensive and way outside my budget. For the larger aquariums (55 and above) it makes sense to have one. For the small and nano tank, say, under 30 gallons, buying premixed water might be a cheaper option. My conundrum: my tank is a 45 gallon, so it's mid-size. Hard to justify the expense of an rodi system, but buying pre-mixed isn't a cheaper long term option either. What to do?

There is an RO/DI for $70 on Amazon that has a couple thousand reviews, I’m kinda curious because that’s actually pretty affordable in the RO/DI world

@@braden2233not sure if it's too late but I purchased the unit you're talking about. Been using it for about a yr. No issues. The filter cartridges are pretty cheap. Hope this helps

I see most of the RO systems in the EU come with the demineralizing(DM) filter, not deionizing(DI). I wonder is that still okay to use?

you talk about alkalinity like it's an element as Calcium is. What element is alkalinity that you are saying is not removed from sofened water, or other water samples?

I have a home filtration system for my entire home. I run tap water from my faucets and never tested for anything harmful. Do I really need a RODI?
