I don’t think it’ll ever happen but Tom vs Francis would be an interesting fight. Chael says otherwise, however, your performance in the cage absolutely does matter in terms of popularity and intrigue. Jon Jones, Tom and Ngannou don’t offer much on the entertainment aspect of things, but their performances in the cage are always fun to watch. Francis Ngannou could fight literally anyone, i will tune in to watch, because when he fights, chances are someone is getting knocked out cold, same story with Jon Jones or Tom, watching them beat people in the cage regardless of who it is, is intriguing. If Tom fought Ngannou, i think i would pick Tom, he isn’t as powerful and he wouldn’t have his usual speed advantage but he’s got better movement and better defense, not to mention, he also has youth on his side, i can definitely see Tom landing a clean right hand on the button and putting Ngannou down.

As a long time fan and supporter of the channel, I’ll offer my opinion. Jon Jones Vs Francis Ngannou would be an interesting fight, i would like to see it, however, I’d rather watch Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall now, it’s the fight that should be made. Tom has done everything right, he deserves this fight, the thought of him being forced to sit out and waste what could be his prime years in inactivity hoping that he gets the fight with Jon is upsetting. Jon jones is holding up the division and hurting the business, trying to renegotiate after signing his last contract. Jon jones should NOT be rewarded for doing so. If the UFC caves and gives him Pereira or allows Jon to do the fight with Ngannou, what kind of message does that send to the rest of the champions in the organization? Sit out, refuse to fight your number one contenders and fight only the people that you want to fight? You can’t have the inmates run the asylum, Jon has to follow the same rules as everyone else. People like me may be few and far between but there are fans out there that do care about these sorts of things, fans that care about the rules being followed. During the entire buildup to UFC 309 and during the main event, all i thought to myself was “it should be Tom in there with Jon right now.” The UFC didn’t get to where it is today by letting their champions cherry pick fights.

What if they did a cross promotion four man heavyweight tournament, jones v pereira, and aspinal v ngannou, or just do a draw, but when the ufc guys fight each other all their belts are on the line but when one fights Francis they fight for some heavyweight version of the bmf. So the winner of jones v pereira would be light hw and hw champ, jones v tom would be hw champ, pereira v tom would be Lhw + hw champ but I’d say Tom wouldn’t ever fight at Lhw so he’d relinquish it, and any of them v Francis would leave the winner with their original belt + hw bmf belt.
