actually, the plot makes a lot of sense, when they found the upside-down boat that was Sams boat, and that black tar sploosh was actually the peach jam stuff extremely old and fermented. then when Stanley brings zero up the mountain it seals the curse because zero is related to madam zerone and the onions on top were the onions that Sam got.

Don’t forget he sang the song once he carried Zero up God’s Thumb and The Warden was related to Trout Walker and the Idea of Digging holes came from Kissin-Kate Barlow if they wanted to find Stanley Yelnats’ treasure which Trout Walker and his wife (who was also Kate’s student when she was a teacher) where desperate to find. That’s really good story telling imo. Basically I like stories that brings everything together like.

The line “hod fudge sundae” Doesn’t make sense without context from the book. In the book, while they are headed to “god’s thumb”, they discuss about what they’re going to find at the top, one of which was something about an ice cream parlor with hot fudge sundaes. Haven’t read the book in a while, but I’m fairly certain of this.

conor kindlon Poison is absorbed, venom is injected. If you get bitten, it’s being injected directly into your bloodstream, so it’s venom. If you eat an apple and you die, the venom was absorbed through your digestive system. Same as if you touch a poisonous frog and it’s absorbed through your skin. Or if you breath in some poisonous gas then it’s absorbed through your lungs.

I really like this movie because of how connected everything is. Zero is the great great grandson of Madame Zeroni and Stanley is the great great grandson of whatever his name was. Because Stanley carried Zero up the mountain he broke the curse. So the curse was 100% legitimate. Once he breaks the curse things start going well for Stanley. Also the fact that the stuff that kept Zero alive for the days he was out there was the very old spiced peaches Kate made for Sam. Personally I believe Sam was Madame Zeroni’s son as well.

Holes is honestly on of the best movies ever! It doesn't just tell one story, but several interconnected stories all with emotional draw that keeps the eye of the viewer. Plus the mystery and comedy of it as well. Along with that, it has a format that fits viewers of all ages. Honestly, one of my favorite films. I absolutely love it and the beautiful story lines it shares.

The book and the movie are ridiculously different properties. I think the people who didn't pay attention were the creators of the movie, not the reviewers, because they missed a _lot_ of shit and if you haven't read the book then it makes no fucking sense. The book was kind of dumb too but there was a lot of genuinely clever writing. The movie was a complete trainwreck which missed the entire point, I still like it but only in a "so bad it's good" way.

It is semi accurate. The story makes more sense than he seems to think, but I could be interpreting it through the lens of the book, which I also read. Basically there are two main and intertwined curse related plots, one starting with Stanley's ancestor being cursed by Zero's ancestor for breaking his oath, and the other being a curse originating with Kate over the lake and all the people involved in killing her lover, who they hated because he was black and she was white. The two curses got all intertwined when Kate stole money from Stanley's more recent ancestor, because in doing so she became part of the curse against their family (they they could not succeed no matter how skilled they were.) When Stanley saved Zero later, he carried him up a mountain and let him drink from the spring on top of it, (like his ancestor was supposed to do for Zero's ancestor) and they ate the essentislly magical onions that remained there from when they were planted by Kate's lover, who claimed they would cure everything. So Stanley fulfilled the pact, lifting the curse against his family. Then having it lifted he suddenly realized that he had enough information to find his family treasure. He finds it, denying it to the descendants of the evil men in the town, and returning it to people who had the same spirit as the Onion guy. They also reveal the criminal activity of the people involved, getting them punished by the law finslly. This lifts Kate's curse as her vengance is finally complete, and so rain returns to the dried up lake.

Holes is actually a pretty good movie, when he carries Zero up the mountain that ended Stanley's curse because Stanley Yelnats I was supposted to carry Madam Zeroni up the mountain, and finally Stanley Yelnats IV (Shia LaBeouf) ended the family's curse by carrying Hector Zeroni (Zero) up the mountain, right after they were greeted with food to eat and water to drink and Stanley felt lucky and went to dig one more hole and found treasure, then his fathers business thrived, and he helped Zero find his mother. My school forces us to read the book. It is much better because they flesh out the characters WAYYYYYYY more. It starts off as a cliche story but as it goes on you see that everything, AND I MEAN EVERYTHING, is connected. Also, the scenes are just way better. For example, the hot fudge sundae scene. Instead of Zero just awkardly standing there, being able to clearly see that the oinion isn`t a hot fudge sundae, he is lying on the ground barely able to movie and could die at any moment. The scene also has proper build up aswell. Zero is sick because he ate something weird and, to try keep him going, Stanley says that he thinks a italian restraunt will be at the top of the mountain and asks Zero what he wants. Zero replies saying he wants a hot fudge sundae. As Zeros health gets worse and Stanley is fearing for his friends life, he says that he already ordered the hot fugde sundae and the italina restraunt is already making it. After Zero faints and Stabley needs to carry him up, there is a moment at the top of the mountain that Stanley thinks there is nothing there and they will die but he find the oinion and water. Zero is now too sick to see so he just takes the oinion and the chapter ends. See? Much better. Just read the book.
