I remember SelecTV on satellite very briefly when I was a kid. Circa 1987 we already had HBO and Cinemax and Showtime and The Movie Channel not to mention the pay per view channels. SelecTV was in a crowded space. It seemed like they were off of satellite by 1988. I was 10 at the time.

We had the Milwaukee version of SelecTV. It offered a daily matinee around noon then offered prime time programming starting at 7PM and ran until around 2 AM. Our version did offer home Brewer baseball games commercial free. We got rid of it because of cost but as mentioned it lasted here until around 1984 when cable became more mainstream.

Watching TV has came along way in my life, from Black and white with a few channels to streaming

I grew up in a rural area. We only had 5 channels in the 1990s.

Have you done a video on Z Channel? It was another pay service in the LA area in the early cable days, and it has a wild, somewhat tragic story.

I remember SelecTV in Philly and I would love to see footage of it and/or WWSG 57 broadcasts. Prism was a better pay station/cable station due to airing home games of the Flyers, Sixers, snd Phillies. I got Prism through Garden State Cable. Channel 57 became WGBS Philly 57 in 1986, replacing the defunct WKBS Channel 48. Prrism was available until 1997.

I remember ON TV due to the sporting events (boxing) at my parents friends' homes. We went straight to Cable and skipped that ON-Select crap.

My current employer vacated the building that became WCGV. At the time I was able to cobble together a converter box with my painfully bad soldering skills.
