Cool studio! And interesting video!!! It made me think that Watches are pretty much the only wearable object that I rotate. I always dress the same, but I change watch according to occasions. If I have a certain training to do that requires automatic timer- a Casio with that feature; if I have to be in water -a g-shock or other waterproof piece. For more formal occasions (I sometimes have to wear a suit when playing at weddings) - some vintage piece or a smart-looking Swatch . And I have WAY too many watches. Hence the name of my channel… Thanks for this video!

You are right about certain situations. I guess I wear my gym Casio watch the most. Thanks for your input!

Another great video John. I used to rotate less so now as I use a work watch monday to friday, but at weekends I go with what a feel like.

I rotate my watches almost on a daily basis depending on my mood or if there is a certain activity that day that may require something a bit more rugged or better looking. In general I sometimes get the feeling of needing to move some watches on as it’s a bit of a waste if I’m not wearing them and someone else might get more use out of certain models so I do sell a few and then replenish the collection. Thanks for the video. Look forward to seeing your channel grow in 2025. Happy new year.

Thanks for your feedback and comments! I think I will probably sell a few watches this year too. Just received a Boderry Voyager for Christmas, so we will see if it makes the cut!

Thanks and Happy New Years! I will check out that model you recommended with Elliott. The Duro is a pretty versatile watch!

It's big though. You'll probably need a 7+ inch wrist to pull it off.

Happy New Year John & Elliott! Love the car-vibe video-gotta try that myself one day! 😉 I normally rotate my watches every day, but on rare occasions, I’ll stick with one for a few days. Other times, I’ll double wrist. I start considering removing a watch from my collection if I don’t wear it for a very long time. I keep track of how much each timepiece is worn by taking a daily wrist-shot photo on WatchCrunch. If you upload your collection there, it’ll actually provide data over time to track your wear patterns.

I enjoy your videos...a refreshing approach to watch collecting! I am guilty of owning quite a few watches that never see any risk time I usually stick to the same 7 or 8 and rotate between them but I just love the history behind timepieces and the variations in design and function so that is why I continue to buy watches even when I should not.

@@woodentulike2no Thanks for the feedback! It is hard to not keep buying due to the love of the hobby. My wife helps keep me grounded and is not a fan of having too many. She only has one watch and thinks we should have the same. I finally convinced her that like ear rings and necklaces, guys like to wear different watches for different reasons. Hope you bring some of your collection out to play soon!

Hey John! I've replaced my very aged DW5600E after 18 years of use (strap and bezel got degraded and it's almost impossible to find replacement parts here). I got a Duro that I use in special occasions, mine is all black with the so beloved Marlin. I also got a A159WA that I use on daily basis and office work. I reccomend this model to you and also to Elliot, I think you're both going to love it, it's extremely comfortable, slim and light as a feather. That's so far my rotating habits. Happy new year my friends! Big hug to both from Argentina.

It's an interesting idea for a video. When I only had about a half-dozen watches I would rotate them, feeling that each one deserved some time. A decade later, I don't have the patience for that. I regret some of my early watch choices (fortunately they were cheap). I don't wear them now; life is short and I'd rather be wearing something I love. I also have watches I love the IDEA of, but I just don't love wearing them. Those don't get worn much. Sometimes I want to wear a homage watch every day and see I could be happy wearing a Rolex Sub or Explorer or Datejust most of the time, but mostly I try to pick the best fit to the job or occasion at hand -- a Sub, Datejust, or PRX homage for an afternoon party, a Tank homage for a formal occasion, a field watch for an afternoon hike, a Daytona homage for watching an F1 or Indycar race, a pilot watch when I'm wearing my my A-2 jacket or feeling nostalgic about flying, or a Casio or Skmei digital for cooking or grilling or any other "beater" task. If you identify enough missions you can buy a lot of watches! Most of these watches are quartz or mechaquartz, so I can grab one and go. When I want to fool around with an automatic, I will wear it until it gains or loses enough that I would have to reset the time -- then it goes back in the penalty box for awhile. I don't like to get excited about wearing a watch and find that it's stopped running.

@@HappyGuy11 Good thoughts. I think all of us have regrets with buying watches too fast. Don’t tell my wife about that though! I have a Steeldive Datejust I wear a lot so I agree I could narrow down my collection to fewer watches. However I will see how this rotation idea pans out ;) I definitely like quartz better than when I started the hobby.

I try to rotate my watches as much as i can. Maybe limiting a week or 2 per watch but when you have a somewhat large collection its hard to do. Alot of watches don't get any rotation.

@@jinjohn8473 Have you tried just wearing those two watches for awhile to see if you like this plan? If you have and want to go forward, sounds great. I really like the idea of a smaller collection to keep and enjoy.
