This video brought a big smile to my face. Personally, I really appreciate Chinese watch brands for what they are and how they make it possible for us to enjoy designs that might otherwise be out of reach. Most people are pleasantly surprised after buying their first one, especially if they initially had negative feelings toward them. I think hands-on experience with a watch is crucial before making a final judgment. That said, I totally respect if something isn’t someone else’s cup of tea. In the meantime, I’ll just keep enjoying more and more watches! 😂 Cheers, J and E!

Yes, a Datejust is out of my reach, but I can love wearing my SD1933. I was very impressed with the quality and wearing experience of this Steeldive. Chinese watches are not for all collectors, but there are many admirers like us Skyler.

I must say that I’m with Elliot on this one. I have a bunch of Casios which are Chinese made. And if one day I’ll get a luxur-ish watch I might consider a good Seiko (not Grand- just plain Seiko) or a less expensive Swiss, like Tissot. Thanks for this video!

@@WUDN-WatchUDontNeed Thanks for watching. I am a Seiko fan. If you can check out Costco, they have a reasonable Seiko 5 that I bought from them. They have other nice models as well. Spot on Elliot! Ali Express watches are rather awful. The main selling point of a lot of AE watches is the Seiko movement, which is usually made in Malaysia and sold under license. The rest is just cosmetic .

Congrats on your new son! I hope he does get into watches. After I started looking at watches and collecting, Elliott was fast on my heels! Have a great day!

I think when companies are starting out they have to do an homage watch or close match as it is the only way to get known and established. But as you said many are doing in house designs now which is a good thing. On the positive side at least Mr E didn't throw it out of the car window😂

That particular light blue watch is not a Rolex copy. Due to the color and larger size. It's just a well made watch. When I was younger I had an issue with the cheap Rolex copies of the day which said "Rolex" on the dial and had none of the Chinese quality.
