Do you still trust the BBC?

talkRADIO’s Ian Collins asks if listeners still trust the BBC’s impartiality, after a Newsnight policy editor faced criticism for writing an article in a left-wing magazine.
Ian accused Lewis Goodall of a “blatant breach” of BBC guidelines for his piece in the New Statesman described on the cover as a look at “how the government’s ineptitude created a lost generation”.
The BBC has said Mr Goodall’s article was approved by management.

Let me know how you did that as I've. been cut off the phone 3 times today as apparently they were so busy and the website wasn't any better, it kept flashing up the form for a couple of seconds and then went to a different page at least 4 times. If I didn't know better I'd say they were trying to prevent me cancelling my licence.

They get millions of pounds in advertising money. While they scared everone about covid, and kept us diverted, they invested in UKTV and many other channels. So they are not a public service now. They get TV TAX LICENCE MONEY. and also Millions from advertising on UKTV. So disgraceful

At 10 mins in I counted the comments carefully: according to my screen: 346 people said NO (including likes on some comments) vs just 3 people with partial trust vs 0 people who trust the BBC at all! 10 mins in! Whilst including likes may potentially duplicate some of those who distrust the BBC, it was a high figure without them. And the numbers are stark! If this is representative of the public, people seem not to trust the BBC at all these days! Including myself!

Not at all. e.g 20th of July i cancelled and requested a refund, not a peep from them yet, no phone call option either, each and every time i call 4 mins of automated menus then a message to say staff are too busy go online that seems to massively discriminate people who dont have online access for whatever reason the cynic in me says this is on purpose to defeat the dear old pensioners. Chased them again 14th August still not a peep.

The bbc have a big problem. The irony is that they lecture us but it is us who are going to teach them a lesson. Certainly not. I had always taken things they said with a pinch of salt, but this Summer I left for good - no more BBC - the website, radio 4, everything. After a lifetime of regarding it as a basically trustworthy institution. It was their ideological views on race and racism that did it for me. This was one thing I could not tolerate. NEVER. I will not be race baited or support anyone or anything that engages in this. I believe in our universal humanity...not race based attributes etc and indoctrinating people with the idea that there is a fluffy systemic racism. These ideological views can harm people, and they have no empirical or statistical validity. And if we look at history, we see where race baiting and racialist ideologies can lead.

In the UK It is illegal to infuse advertisement with any subliminal persuasion, apparently and unfortunately this does not include so-called fact based programming. I use the word fact with a pinch of salt and regard programming as very pointed.

Have to say no. I started noticing a subtle bias creeping in several years ago & find their coverage of stories online to be very dumbed down. And whenever I see a story starting with ‘What you need to know’, I immediately have my suspicions. Also, this bias is reflected in the issues and viewpoints that they choose not to report on. I do like Andrew Neil though although they have sidelined him a bit.

The BBC presenters are impartial in the sense that they don't share their views however the BBC is biased in how it picks and chooses the stories and the people it covers. For example with all the blm stuff, the BBC has not done one interview with someone that disagrees with blm, I would also say they have glorified the blm movement in a way and have certainly suggested that Britain is systemically racist
