Thank you Vince! It is good to see you. I have noticed you are quite busy and I do wish you and the family the best!

@@ellensburgamplifier Thank you Todd, yes the car has taken up a big chunk of my time over the past 6 months, more than expected! Hopefully in the winter months I will have a bit more free time to catch up on other KZbinrs videos and different fixes myself. Hope business is going good for you and life is treating you well 👌

I’m having a problem with the fans on my taramp. The fans will randomly go to full speed on first power up and not turn off until I turn my truck off. If I turn my truck back on the fans do the normal spool up and back down.
@ellensburgamplifier Жыл бұрын
This may be a possible MCU glitch or an intermittent input fault to the MCU. The MCU is a chip that runs the whole amplifier.

Wow I just saved like 4 fans lol. Great tip! Ty Todd :)

Oh ya, I would rather save them if I can. So much garbage ends up in the ground.

Thank you. I figured I would show that a person can save their fans and keep their amplifiers running cool.

Alwsome info I try this out thanks. Although Im wondering if there are better fans with seald bearings available for the smart5?
@ellensburgamplifier Жыл бұрын
Hi John, there are many choices for fans as they are the standard 40x20 fans. Some HF fans can be extremely noisy in these. Also, please be aware of the high voltages present if you are working within the amplifier.
@johnd5542 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. Ya I was looking at about 9000 different 12v fans that will work, just not sure which ones are quite yet can meet the cooling requirements. I guess I just buy a couple and see what works best.

What kind of grease did you use to lube up the bearing on the fan? I heard the brand crc but what type or lubricant?
@ellensburgamplifier11 ай бұрын
I now use Super Lube for bushings.

@@ellensburgamplifier oh alright got it thanks 👍🏽 ill definately try it on mine, fans been annoying me for a while lol, for the mounting of the amps ik the box says dont mount them on the sub box due to vibration but do you recommend mounting them with a spacer since the bottom of the amps have vent gaps ?
@ellensburgamplifier11 ай бұрын
@@nicksgarage460 Vibration is nasty on the components within the amplifier so I would use rubber spacers under the amp but always keep in mind that the amplifier could fail at any time if the inductors/capacitors are not secured properly. If your fans rattle, they will need to be replaced, but if they run slow, the bushing needs to be greased.
@nicksgarage46011 ай бұрын
@@ellensburgamplifier ah noted thanks ill definately have to look for that when opening my amp and ill defiantely go with the spacers in the future thanks again 👍🏾

can i do this to the fan with out removing it from the amp?
@ellensburgamplifier Жыл бұрын
You may be able to get to it. Just be careful to not spray anything that will get all over the board. If you can pull the sticker and use a Qtip to clean the bushing area then apply a drop of grease/oil you should be good to go.

@@ellensburgamplifier Thanks my amp aint very old but as soon as it turns on it has very loud static screeching noise,and if its cold out it last for a long time, so glad i saw your video.
@ellensburgamplifier Жыл бұрын
@@kevinc5917 It sounds like the grease is a little old which thins out as it heats up. It may need to be replaced if the bushing is bad.

@@ellensburgamplifier you have any links for fans that will work? mine is from a MD12002 Taramp's MD 1200.1 2 Ohms 1200 Watts
@ellensburgamplifier Жыл бұрын
@@kevinc5917 I honestly can't remember if they are 4020 fans or 4010 fans for the 1200.1. I carry all the fans if you are wanting to purchase them or you can get them from Mouser. The fans will measure something like 40mm x 20mm or 40mm x 10mm if you have a caliper around.

This is what thing I hate about Taramps, the noisy fans.
