I'm probably talking out of my ass here, but I'd suggest Medium heavy to heavy freshwater tackle with baits mimicking the size/shape of whatever your target species is eating. Color can be whatever conditions dictate because I think silhouette matters more and the pattern either cements their attention or turns them off.

Heavy rods. 60lb braid. Large spooks, spoons, hair jigs, or live bait.

@@davidrussell9290 good advice, though, last I checked, heavy Saltwater gear is stuff like shark fishing or offshore big game. Heavy bass rods tend to be like a medium Saltwater setup
