I have two old school light or rama control boxes that are 16 channels each. If I wanted to upgrade my LOR stuff, will these LED's work with that programming? Really like this concept. Id like to mount permanent LED lighthing on my home front and back yard.

Just finished a 100 foot install on my home. Looks amazing against a bone colored stucco. Very happy with Mattos and their products. They will be the star of my show again this year. ❤️ If you’re gonna use this year round, what would you do differently with you’re install? Just been wondering about where to keep my receivers. Thanks.
@LearnChristmasLighting2 жыл бұрын
For permanent install, you just want to keep the wiring hidden/neat as well as the controller. That can mean different things for different houses - possibly mounted in a small box up high on the side like a cable box, or in an attic area in a place that's not super easy to access, but is clean. I will probably mount a small controller box on the side of my house next year to make it permanent.

I wish I knew about this before I bought PermaTrack last month and installed it on my house 😭. I like my PermaTrack system but a brighter light at wider spacing looks more “pro level”. I looked into Jellyfish and other systems but they were just too expensive.

You have the proper power injection and power levels set? Mine get very bright once the power levels are set.

I am trying to figure out a way to have the LEDs sort of hidden so I'm not shining down from my two story roof line into the neighbor's windows which are very close on both sides. I want a removable barrier or something so I can take it off for Christmas and you'd be able to see the LEDs. Then I could put the barrier back and just have a light wash down the walls and mostly just straight down.

So besides the rgb trim kit...what controller can I use? What else is needed for this setup?
@LearnChristmasLighting2 жыл бұрын
Any controller, it is compatible with WS2811 data, which any pixel controller in this hobby will work with (it is the most common type of pixel in the hobby)

@@LearnChristmasLighting Any issues using these lights with a light show? I saw an article that RGBW lights have slower data than WS2811 lights. I plan to have other lights hooked up to a Falcon controller, but I want these in the soffit connected to WLED controller.

Looks great! Would these work with LOR Pixel controllers?
@LearnChristmasLighting Жыл бұрын
Probably! They work with standard WS2811 data, so as long as the LOR controller or LOR itself can be set to control the RGBW LEDs, you should be good

Does anyone make or have any idea how to plug or seal off the exposed end(s) of a run? We have wasps and yellowjackets in our area that make their nests anywhere they can fit.

What would be the set up using a Kulp controller and flight? What’s their protocol?

It's standard WS2811, so setup is easy. Set them as an RGBW node in xLights and WS2811 as type and off you go!

What is the power draw on a string and how many can be chained on one por?
@LearnChristmasLighting2 жыл бұрын
Every meter is 10 lights and .96w , I have chained up to 50' with no problem with a short line between the power supply and the pixels
@ptrvljn2 жыл бұрын
@@LearnChristmasLighting Per my measurement it is ~50mA per LED puck at full power. So at 60mA (+10mA for safety) * 12V = 0.72W per LED puck, or 0.6A per track at full power.

@@LearnChristmasLighting , I’m just now getting into the hobby and have run across your page (love it). A question for you on these. You said you have run 50’, which would be 150 pixels, which I understand, can be a good count from one port, but in your videos, you talk about a 25’ limit on data. How does that work for a 50’ run or is it not an issue?
