@@s1nan636 If you’re poor, can’t work on a car, or know nothing about cars, get a normal car until something in your situation changes. Asking that question is pretty much a given. There’s maintenance and wear/tear parts you’ll have to replace on any performance car, especially at the 100,000 mark. It’s never left me stranded because I preventively maintain it. For example; At 130,000 miles the water pump was getting old and so were some of the hoses… so I replaced them. Now it’s good for another 10 years. Same as valve cover gasket. Makes no sense to drive it until it breaks when it’s my daily. Maintenance on a car isn’t just changing oil & air filters. I did the same with my LSx Trans Am. Preventative maintenance is more important than anything. Sports cars/performance cars are like airplanes. If you’re stupid, you’ll wait until something gives out in the air. If you’re clever, you’ll address it in advance. Get on BMW Reddit/forums to learn about the common faults of any car you’re interested about in advance.

I've owned a 435i xdrive for 3 years now. I live in northern canada ... temps get to -40c or lower in the winter and the things I hate the most is THE BATTERY SUCKS FOR WINTER "Low battery" warnings. low profile tires go flat in temp changes. and in the spring you'll get the drive train malfunction because I think one of the sensors might get exposed to moisture and freeze overnight. As a prospective 4 series buyer, thanks for the video! I have a few questions: 1. Do you know why the oil filter housing gasket/valve cover gasket starts leaking at such low mileage? Are there any ways to prevent it from leaking? Are there after market parts that are reliable alternatives? 2. I've read that the N55 water pump fails at around 60k for some(some even being shortly after being replaced/and some lasting to 100k) without any warning. Are there any alternatives that are more reliable? I'd like an 435i for commuting with/road trips, but having a water pump that randomly fails is my biggest concern. Of course, anything can go wrong on longer trips and with mileage, but when it's common enough to be mentioned through out forums, its a bit of a worry.
@SimplyCarThings5 жыл бұрын
Matthew I im not sure why the oil filter housing gasket leaks so early, however id just attribute it to a fairly mediocre design along with a cheap gasket, its not a huge deal though, i’m at 56k miles on my M235i and no signs of any leakage. The water pump on these newer EWG variant N55’s like in the 435i are much more reliable and less problematic than prior years so i wouldnt worry about it too much! thanks for watching man 👍🏼

Both vehicles were used at the dealership. 435 was a vert and both cars were driven on the same road/day. Didn't really feel something massive. For the 335i I drove it before driving a 340 but after driving a 435i (not a 440). when I drove it I felt like okay its zippy and nice but nothing blew me away. That's until I test drove a 2017 340i. Holy shit was my first reaction. Feathering the pedal felt like it was maybe 60% faster (it wasn't). Corners felt sharper, almost like there was more body roll but the cabin was designed to move better. Its really hard to explain but when driving it. I would never go 35 over 40i on the 3 series. Engine aside the cars handling itself felt really refined.

BMW I was on top of the oil and just had a stage 1 BM3 tune on my 335i n55. I spun a rod and the engine was toast. I was out of warrenty and shit out of luck so I sold the car for $8500 and bought a new Honda Accord sport 😂😂. Had the car for about 5 months and I’m already looking at f30 340i’s and g20 m340i’s.

N55’s have weaker internals than the N54. N55’s are just much more reliable in *stock trim* than N54’s. However, the N54 is the one you want for mods and tuning.

Currently own a ‘17 Mustang Supercharged GT decked with mods (around 680 HP), but am thinking of selling for an F32 or F36. For those that own an F32/36, would you recommend? Or stay with Mustang? I’m a full time college student dorming, so won’t drive a lot (unless to parties ;) lol) Looking for a more comfortable car that’ll save me a lil more money as GT is bringing me too many problems (My supercharger is straining the engine too much). Also, what year F32/36 is best? I have a $35k budget. Or any other BMW’s models y’all recommend that can sound really nice with a tune and some mods. Thanks!!

@@nightoftune what's wrong with how the 2 series looks?
@nightoftune5 жыл бұрын
@@holahovito11 Nothing wrong with it. I have a m235i myself and had 4er and M3s. I would say for most people the 4 series is more appealing because it looks more "grown up". So its just an opinion you can not make a "wrong" decision. just get the one you want. As a sidenote i would say the 4 series is the better daily because of it being the "higher class" with better tech, more daily friendly suspension and roughly the same used price. But the 2 series m pack is the purer, nimbler more driver focused car. Its utterly fun!

That car is going to seriously depreciate over the next few years. So if you pay $25k today in 3 years you'll loose half at least in depreciation plus get almost nothing back on all your maintenance and upgrades. Low mile full service record E92 M3 stick better option
@TheBlacSumrfs5 жыл бұрын
Sounds good to me I will definitely wait until they price drop
@SimplyCarThings5 жыл бұрын
I love the E92 M3 as well, but the problem is most aren't looking to get into one. As good of a car it is, for most people it's not a practical daily driver due to the higher maintenance, fuel costs, and lack of low end torque associated with it. For $25k you can get a pretty low mileage 435i (25-35k miles) where as an E92 M3 in that price range is around $35k+ If you're looking for the best performing car, the M3 is by far the better choice, but it's definitely not the most practical.

@@SimplyCarThings bought a 08 e92 m3 stick 85k miles for $18k 6 months ago pulled the motor replaced rod bearings beefed up a few other things added a superchaged its a beast. All in with upgrades and mods im just under $25k excluding sales tax a license at purchase. I haven't lost a dime and in 3 years probably won't lose much. Not sure where you buy your m3's? I purchased mine in Henderson NV drove flawless to our shop in Sparks NV. I stand by my depreciation estimate above on the 435i.. If they take your advice they will take a huge hit.
