I have to give it to the AXA for sounding a touch more coherent overall, but most likely because of the A/B comparison ;) Without that it's not that obvious. Still, the Sony sounds also amazing, so it comes down to taste and speakers used, imo. Impressive how 'budget' amps can sound this good. Thanks E Project! 💪

I had the opportunity to listen to Cambridge and this Sony, I say that Cambridge is flatter, Sony is better in bass and mids.

Soundwise, the AXA. But Sony is the one Ill be checking out with at the counter. For the price of the AXA, I can definitely get better.

Sony's treble is brighter and more details, more instrumental and separately sounds, bass is crisper; Cambridge produces dull treble but a bit warmer bass. Sony has much more features: can play 2 pair of speakers, bluetooth, phono input & even radio, more power output; whilst Cambridge cannot be poorer in features. Price: Sony C$250 vs Cambridge C$380 (before tax) Overall, Sony outperformed by any means. Tks E Project for comparison 👂

@@boneseyyl1060 on the first song i preferred sony, it sounded more open but on the second song i preferred the cambridge, the sony sounded duller

I picked the B (The Sony) with every passage. I heard more warmth and the mids were clearer, highs rolled off and more smooth. Definately heard much more bass presence. The Cambridge sounded a bit livelier uptop, recessed in the midrange and less bass. My ears picked the Sony all the way around.

The Sony has more clarity, but is comparitively lean in the midtange compared to the AXA25, wich I think has extra. With the Meta's I prefer the STRDH190 a bit.

They're close, but the Cambridge has better imaging, fuller bass and mids, and more natural overall sound. The Sony has brighter treble, which is sometimes a bit edgy sounding, and its midrange is more hollow and recessed, but it still sounds pretty good for its price. It's just bettered by the Cambridge
