I’m chasing the “perfect” version (for me) of the things I need, and I end up with clutter as I go through items that aren’t that ideal I’m looking for. Eg the perfect carry on bag 😅 or jacket

T.K. Coleman's example by drawing a parallel between fitting-in and random car asking you to hop is brilliant, extraordinary and eye-opening. Loved it 😍 It opened my eyes even more on the whole "fitting-in" paradigm of our Society. Thank you guys for the work you are doing. You helped change my life's course and revivalists my values and priorities in late 2019 and I am deeply thankful for that. It's was the Netflix movie you just released. Thank you🙏

Wow, wonderful conversation! I have always been the square peg, stopped desiring to fit in back in my college days. It was freeing and I put all my energy and creativity towards the important stuff, but I have noticed that every now and then I feel that 'fit in' pressure and have to do something obnoxious to reinstate my unique. 😂

Yeah i know what you mean - especially in youth culture you are expected to do certain things and if you don't do them you are considered boring or odd and then get ostracised from the collective. But id rather be osteracised and stick to my own values and heart then live in fear of rejection and betray my values just to do what everyone else is doing. Many people will just follow the crowd because they would rather please others and be safe with them then step away and live by their own truth. Ive met people in life who had big dreams but then gave it all up just to copy everyone else around them as it kept them 'safe' from any insults etc. This would make me very miserable personally but to them, the safety of the tribe and having their approval is the most important thing.

It’s really great to hear, I’ve been an outsider for 60 years. I could never fit in. I always been left to my right and wrong. I’m happy now but truly feel sad because people don’t realize how special they are. Thanks for the great info

I love minimalism. I`m not looking what peoples do, I'm just living my own life. I`m chasing for simple life with my rules.

Trying to fit in is a very lonely game to play. Creating space and seeing what happens might appear to be lonely, but if you can be at peace and be patient with the process, the reward may be a genuine and fulfilling life experience. Or, maybe, the space is not intended to be filled at all. I loved the meaning expressed in this episode.

Spot on Gentlemen. Used to be a people pleaser . I’m 57 and realized I really don’t like people that much anymore. Not in a mean way , just don’t have anything in common with u anymore. I don’t even like myself some days. Lol

Josh, nice American Psycho reference. Love the film and book. And that quote is a great explanation for why Bateman is who he is. Not to say that ALL people who want to fit in are psychopaths, but man, that behavior is TRULY unhealthy. You'll never find happiness or peace if you care more about fitting in than you do about being who you want to be.
