The Rhodes University Africa Debates is a pedagogical platform where Rhodes University’s TV3 students tackle and debate a range of important issues in our times to empower awareness and ignite discussion. In this year’s compelling debate show, 5 passionate debaters engage in a stimulating discourse and tackle the critical question: 'Do Young Black Lives Matter?'. It delves deep into the complexities of race, racial inequalities, the system of whiteness, social justice and other struggles faced by black people in a South African context. The panel comprises diverse panellists who offer different, insightful and constructive dialogues to foster new understandings of what it truly means to be black in the contemporary world.
