Yeah. I notice this is especially bad with African-Americans and to an extent African-Caribbeans and Africans as well. For Africans, generally speaking, they tend to work together and stick up for one another especially if they are from the same "tribe".... AND also if they are in a foreign land (e.g. Igbos in the U.S.). But when it comes to self-hate to the point of self-destruction and self-sabotage no one beats African-Americans. HOWEVER... all people of African ancestry have significant self-destructive, self-hate, and self-sabotaging behavior INCLUDING Africans and African-Caribbeans. BUT... Africans and African-Caribbeans do significantly work together and help each other A LOT more compared to African-Americans. That's why Africans and African-Caribbeans are significantly more successful in the United States compared to African-Americans. They are more UNITED than African-Americans.

I'm 31. I tried for years to help give back to black people. I volunteered at Jails, Juvenile halls, half way houses, etc. I really bought into Calude Anderson theory and tried to apply it in my county. It failed...they insulted me and I was almost assaulted from just being in their neighborhood passing out fliers for workshops. I almost had a nervous breakdown at 29 when a meeting fell apart when I was teaching community unity with my mento who was 54. Its so sad, I see other black people and smile and wave...I'm only met with bad looks. I got hope but I'm not doing that anymore. I spent my 20s believing the black people were the same people during Huey P Newton era...but I will still say to another black man and share my love.

I was led to this video for a reason! This is the story of my life, when dealing with people who "Look" like me. "All skin folk ain't your kin folk!" This saying has proven to be true.. Trust me, I LOVE being black but hatred is a big problem in our community. Even as a child I always had a hard time connecting with my cousins, etc. And I was always gaslit and made to look like I was the problem, when I would bring it up. Even in my 40s I'm still bothered by it.. I was always told I talked white and was constantly attacked for having a different taste in music and films. To this day, I still feel the "evil eye" when I come in contact with my people. Due to My line of work, I have to interact with US but it's not always pleasant. The conversations are always like, "You talk so white" "You ain't from around here" "I bet yo wife is white", etc. Just ignorance.. *Sigh* Keep up the good Work brother!!

I grew up in small town Wichita KS in the 80s. Parents were married and life was good. Went to great schools, lived in a nice home, etc. Wichita is under 11% black. Then, we relocated back to Memphis (I was born here). Parents got divorced and life got dark. I was made fun of by school mates and family for speaking proper, reading, eating healthy, having a 2 parent household, and being positive. Memphis is full of ignorance, poverty, violence, and crime. Memphis is also 85% black. I am relocating back to Kansas in a year. Always look at a city's racial demographis. Sadly, any city with over 30% blacks is going to be problematic.

Shout out to the great elder Mr Neely Fuller Jr. and thank you Big Ward for this most important topic. I am a 65 year old black man and I talk about this all the time with friends and family members. I once upon a time lived amongst my people , and I began to realize that there was something wrong with us. Why should we have to be fearful of our own people ? Something is definitely wrong. I moved away a number of years ago to a community that is about 94% white. There is no such place as paradise, but living away from our own people is often times much better. We are jealous and we are envious of each other. We as a people can’t stand to see another black person with something they don’t have. I hate to say it but it is true. Leaving the hood was one of the best things I ever did. White people might not like you but they don’t bother you. With our own people the crab in a barrel effect is all to real.

Whenever we had small gatherings me siblings cousins ect… I would always be the positive one with encouraging words and informative info on how to stay motivated in the horrific times we’re living in today. Then I started hearing negative comments from other family members that really got the message and really cared about me and that’s when I knew it was time to leave black people to stay miserable by themselves! It’s unbelievably sad that this topic is definitely accurate and why most people with character and purpose should avoid those black people that are not of the same caliber. @@winstynglyn6893 it’s not that we hate our own. Our own hate ourselves. It’s in the dna. This is the very thing that was taught to our ancestors. It is deeply rooted in the fibers of our very black dna. We as a people can’t see pass what we’ve been shown. What we are told and therefore believe it. What we’re fed. Listen to and lay down with as a people is full deceit. It’s a disease. And unfortunately some diseases have consequences. Or contagious. The only way to lift our people from this is God thru Christ Jesus. But again. Look at the music. Schools. Jobs. Communities etc. in our areas they have purposely take Christ out. The black church is a joke used to be a safe haven. Schools teach everything but truth. Music teaches drugs and sex. Families aren’t strong. I can go on. We don’t hate our people. But we are not willing to catch the very disease we escaped from. So that my children wouldn’t see what I literally experienced as a Chicago kid. By the age of five I’ve been molested by family. Siblings. Mothers boyfriends. My siblings and I watched our mother kill a man in front of us while the body laid hours until they took it in 1986. The black trauma is deep. I was in foster care. From 6/19 By 8 I knew. If I didn’t behave in my foster home. If I didn’t get good grades. If I didn’t follow what I was hearing in church what the pastor said God was doing. My life would be like theirs is now. My mother overdosed wheni was 33 from heroin. Brother just got out of prison. Etc We do try to help our own. I could easy fall prey and give excuses on why I just couldn’t get it together. Like I said by 8. I knew God was real. And the only way. I knew I wanted a family. I knew I didn’t want them to see that. Every birthday I remember thinking it’s almost time. By my sophomore year it really got serious because the system kicks you out at 18 or 21 in college. We aren’t looking forward as a people. We’re looking at the right then and there and now. Look at the youth. Many of us broke generational curses but many more of us have not. That’s the issue

I been called those names. I can say and I’m not praising anyone but in my military college and raising my kids. It was always someone white or others who lent a hand. Voice out hug. My own sister spoke ill of my son before he died in Sept. two days before he died he has a seizure at school. The school called her. I was in Walmart getting dinner to cook. She told them she don’t talk to me or deal with me or can’t contact me. Well I did get to him before I found that out. But he did pass two days later. Seizure in his sleep. But this sister. Same momma. Same daddy. Basically said fuck my son. It was hurtful. Her jealousy couldn’t humble her to contact me. But instead told the school take her name off the emergency list. Texted our oldest brother. Told him tell Kelly take my name off the emergency list. It literally be our own people man. Your own dang on family. At the funeral while she speaking the flag fell off the coffin. Ten others went before her including me twice to speak. That was the spirit. It’s sad how we do each other. Especially family. Basically it bills down to I’m the little sister that got out of foster care and was successful with the half million dollar home. And no matter what she tells people imma always mental nutcase. Truly truly hurtful. But not anymore. It’s what I expect from many of us. We have a self destructive mindset.

Wow. This is SO a sad but sadly I agree. In 2023 I made the decision to limit going to a lot of Black majority events unless there is something constructive and productive going on. It’s not everyone but it’s WAY too many Black folks with poison towards each other as Neely said in the audio. For the past 2 years as a Black woman I experienced a lot of poison from other Black women for no reason other than just progressing, traveling, being in a healthy relationship. From family to women I have never met in my life, just online causing drama. You get a target on your back when you’re not a walking stereotype. It’s sad but my safety and self preservation comes first. Jealousy is wicked and it’s so strong within Black circles. It’s bad enough to have to be concerned with non Black peoples racism but then people who look like you too? Shame. I do think if more Black people took care of themselves & their mental health, build a relationship with God, the “community” would actually flourish. Too many Black people think they’re in community with each other, but what it really is is just being comfortable around one another & bonding through a shared trauma. All of us aren’t like this obviously, but it’s way too many. Help who you can from a distance & help the youth is how I feel. Broken people in a big group can’t help one another.
