Do your PhD from Europe!

A PhD, Doctor of Philosophy or doctorate degree from a European university can be done in 3 years in most cases. The advantages in terms of a more flexible admission process and the absence of GRE and other exam requirements in most cases is discussed. Some anecdotes of Indian students doing PhD in Germany and France are shared. The doctor of philosophy is the PhD degree which you do after doing the Masters degree and is the terminal degree in any field.

Sir, what is your experience that in life sciences or cancer biology, will they accept in Europe at the age of 49 years ! As a medical doctor, I always had a desire to do research, however the time went by and I did MD here and have been working in India in medicine. Published few clinical research papers as well....

You can apply for PhD positions. I know one person who got PhD admission and scholarship at the age of 58. So it is possible. In western countries they typically don’t bother too much about age. I have 8 good publication overview and knowledge of my field but not hands on experience because in India you know research facilities are less I have knowledge but less hands experience that I am worried about.... That making me harder to take decision
