Average working man in USSR, especially in 1930's lived worse than US unemployed during the Depression. Some of them even took the Soviet citizenship. Т.н. "богатые" разные бывают. Есть богатые экономически, а есть богатые финансово. Капитал это несомненно ко второму. Денежная масса не с неба берётся.
