I just got a Maverick series 734c and I'm in love with it. It's such a well made rod you know it when you pick it up.

Love this rod, I have 3 of them in my boat and a Sierra 734 when I want a little slower action. They really can do just about anything. I used mine all the time for all the things mentioned in your video. I just recently started using them for skipping docks. They have the perfect action for skipping a 3/8oz jig under docks.

I am glad you made this video I been looking for a rod that throws any kinda bait without any intentions on getting a ton of rods.. let's face it even if a guy does have ton of rods you can only use one rod in your hand at a time..no matter if you fishing pro or just for fun.

Great rod, I got lucky and got the dc734c and dc703s when a local store was doing away with the line and had them on clearance for 139.00 each! Then I had someone give me a fury 734c that had a guide missing. Local rod repair fixed it for 7.00.Also the Sierra 703c I have is a pretty good do all rod also.

Hey man great video. And thank you for covering this model rod. I also you the same setup with 30 braid/16 floro. Can I offer you a suggestion to try? Check out the Gamakatsu Finesse Heavy Cover. These are the best hooks I have found for flipping mid to light vegetation and submerged cover. The taper, power, backbone, and overall action of this rod with the braid to floro leader is absolute spot on. I flipped submerged grass and light mats for 4 hours and caught 22 Bass, missed three bites and never lost a single fish that I hooked. I wish I was a KZbinr so I can have it on video because it was my first day out flipping a Z-Man Goat on the 4/0 G-finesse heavy cover hook

Have you ever use the Champion 764?
@FishinMitch2 жыл бұрын
I've never used the 764, but have used the 765 as a flipping stick. The 764 seems like it would be a solid option for Carolina rigs and flipping around sparse cover or submerged grass!

Is the sensitivity on par with other 200 dollar rods?
@patrickdevereaux47357 ай бұрын
IMO The XPs are incredible moving bait rods. For Bottom contact and incredible sensitivity, I stretch on price and buy an Expride. Great Bang for the buck.
@Re-liner_outdoors7 ай бұрын
@@patrickdevereaux4735 thanks. Since I made this comment I ended up buying a champ extreme 745, then later bought an expride. I really like the expride for bottom contact stuff

Would you recommend this rod if I just need something to also throw in my arsenal as a jigrod worm rod, soft, plastics jigs I wasn’t sure if I should get the 733
@FishinMitch2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. 733 may be a little light for jigs unless you're only throwing finesse jigs. Otherwise, the 734 will do all of that stuff very well
