I’m from Scranton pa I called Dobyns Rods and spoke to a nice gentleman over the phone. I asked this man are you a worker? He said to me no sir I’m Gary Dobyns. I was very impressed. When he says that customer service is the best he means it. I will only purchase Dobyns Rods because of the fact that he is so upfront and a very honest person. I am ordering 4 rods this week. Great company to deal with!!!!!!

I am so impressed with these rods. I bought one a couple of years ago for Texas Rigging and immediately noticed the sensitivity. it was a noticeable improvement from any rod I had been fishing for the last 40 years. I have been in the industry since I was in my 20's so I have never had low budget equipment. This rod series seriously caught my attention the very first time I used it. I now own 4 and have never been more satisfied. Thanks Gary for doing things the right way. These are a great value.

Last year I decided to get a crankbait rod. After research, this video is what convinced me to try the Fury 705 CB. To say I'm impressed would be an understatement. It has worked well with so many baits. It's my number 1 used rod. I use it for anything with treble hooks. Including topwater lures. And chatterbaits. Small swimbaits. I was fortunate to catch my PB largemouth with this rod using a 90 size whopper plopper in Loon color. 4lbs 4 ozs. Rod performed perfectly.

I just ordered my first Dobyns rod (Fury). I'm a long time St. Croix user, but have heard good things about Dobyns for years and finally decided to try one out. I'm really looking forward to using it this spring.

Hey man I just ordered the 7'3" mag heavy from tackle Warehouse but I haven't received the second email and it's been 24 hours, have they ever done that to you?

+kushcrumbleshatter1990 They usually send the 2nd email when it's shipped. They must be backed up from the weekend sale.

+TopWaterAssassin78 I just called them and they said my account was compromised because someone tried to order something with my card number I guess? so they said I had to have someone else order it so I made another account with my wife's name and email so we will c if that works, I had to use the same debit card tho as I used this time but it's a different card than the one that was compromised so we will c

I’ve got a full rack. Use em at least twice a week. And they have hundreds of bass on each. I’ve tried and bought so many others for years. Trying to find better for the price. And sold them all and still use these. Can’t beat the warranty either. But I haven’t had to even use one yet.

How is it? Can it throw 2.75 keitechs and other stuff?

@@FishingWithJBT I've thrown small baits like that for sure and in a pinch even a 1/4oz Texas rig. It really is my favorite spinning rod right now. Any bass over 2lbs is a TON of fun on it too!

I no longer use dobyns rods. I know that sometime rods break. It's part of life. But for a $120 rod to break on the cast is a little ridiculous. This happened with my fury 703. I got the whole moment on film, and I sent the video to Dobyns explaining my situation. They said that I still needed to mail the rod in for "inspection", which cost me around $20. I did this, and 6 days AFTER I got delivery confirmation they told me that the rod had "impact and crush marks", which doesn't make sense at all. They said that because of this, I would need to pay $50 to replace the rod PLUS RETURN SHIPPING. So it would have added up to $90 to replace a $120 rod.($20 shipping in for inspection $50 replacement fee+$20 return shipping. I will no longer be using Dobyns rods, and I recommend that you do not either. The rod break was sad, but the customer service was downright terrible.

This July alone I broke 5 st croix Rods totaling over 1,000 dollars in one month, it's not stcroixs fault or dobyns a rod made from any graphite blank is susceptible to blowing up, go fiberglass if you want durability but not many quality fiberglass rods in favorable tapers are being produced at the moment so custom is the way to go if durability is your goal the whole industry is more geared towards casting distance accuracy and sensitivity lending most rods to be fast action high modules graphite compared to yester years moderate action fiberglass

Similar situation on a 705CB. Caught a 1.53lb dink. Took it off, took a pic and threw it back and on the very next cast it snapped between the 4th and 5th eye? Called and talked th Chelsie and sent pictures and she said it's not defective and for another $70 they will replace it?? I take awesome care if all my rods, Lews, Abu, Ducketts etc and I have never had a rod snap in over 30 years of fishing? It's not about the $$$ it's the poor Cust svc. I had a Lews Custom with a bad eye fraying the line and the lady at Lews said send it in. I tried to UPS it and it was like $70? Called her back and she said just cut out the section with the model number. Cost me $6-7 to ship it and 2 weeks later I had a brand new rod. Now that's customer service.

I'm the best fisherman that I know personally and I run Fury's along with my favorite specialty rods. My favorite Fury's are the two spinning rods 702 & 703 and the 765 Flip. The actions are perfect imo. The SB rods are a steal!

Can you tell me what the failure rate is on your Dobyns? And return shipping costs? I have had it with modern rod construction and have watched so many brands snap within months of purchase. I just want to find a reliable rod that doesn't break so easily like the Loomis, St Croix, Carbonlites, Abu Garcias I keep swapping out. I have rods in my garage over 40 years old but cannot even get 6 months out of any of those I just mentioned.
@brandonpedersen92755 жыл бұрын
Graphite vs fiberglass , graphite casts further, is more accurate and more sensitive this is what most modern manufacturers make rod blanks with fiberglass is way more durable yet few manufacturers make quality fiberglass rods but they are out there
