I've just watched season 2 again, and I really enjoyed Stewart Wright's portrayal of PC Mylow. I was particularly struck by his outburst against the Doc when he receives the very unwelcome news about his fiancee's dodgy past: a spot-on description of the Doc's own psychological maladies, delivered in extreme umbrage, that took me aback. I listened with interest to his account of leaving the series, done on his initiative, he says, so as to avoid being typecast. Understandable, but lamentable.

Was sad when I realized he left the role while barreling through on NetFlix. Enjoyed his portrayal. Very endearing character. Also nice to see someone attractive as I could never get past Clunes' fish lips.

i went to see swallows and amazons today, and i met stewart! not really knowing who he was apart from reading the programme, he was lovely and the show was absolutely mind blowing! apparantly he was in black books?

I liked Mark as the Police Officer of Portwenn compared to Joe. Why did Stewart leave after season 2 in the first place?

Liked him better, too. Just a more nuanced character than Penhale.

He was my favorited character on the show. I'd always held out hope he would return. I tried but never took to Penhale
