That was a great dissection of the interception play! One of the best this year. Thx much.

Trav with the little smirk/smile...and that interception led to a last second FG to win the game...

I don't know if this comparison is accurate, but it reminds me of the times I've stood in front of the fridge, poured a glass of Apple juice, then put the glass in the fridge and took the jug to the table. I could see and feel the difference, still did anyway.

I thought intended receiver was Fidone, but he actually ran an out. Looks like Bullock(?) lined up outside and ran an in and was open if pass had been thrown over the defender. Also looked like a receiver on the right of the formation may have come open. I get that Satterfield was trying to get within FG range, but due to clock mismanagement, they burned their last timeout previously. Just a comedy of errors at the worst possible time. Appreciate your analysis men!

Mentioned #49 came to position right in front of the umpire (referee) and likely camouflaged himself by that alignment. The QB knows the umpire sits there, QB likely didn't see #49 Ethan Hurckett go into that position. He threw to the receiver which he thought the umpire was the person in that position rather than the D-lineman.

The "The Nail In The Coffin" was not the pick. It was the "Blackshirts" allowing a 22 yard gash immediately following that allowed a kid who hadn't been on the field all year to squeak a field goal through the uprights.

However, 49 didn't just get there. He had enough time to order drinks and an appetizer before Purdy stared at him and threw him the ball. It could be that the game is still moving too fast for his limited experience in '22 and '23. Benhart and Johnson picked up the blitzes too, making the throw even worse. Can you chalk it up to lack of experience due to injuries, turnovers and bad play from the other 2 QBs forcing a 3rd QB into play for a couple games? It's hard to say.

Purdy's brain might not be registering that guy dropping into coverage, but that doesn't mean his eyes don't work. The guy is right in line where he is throwing the ball and he's a pretty big guy that would appear pretty hard to miss. It's not cheating if the quarterback looks at where he is throwing the ball. Don't close your eyes and heave it...like the other two guys do.

Is there any psyche training that can be done to train these QB’s brains to see the opponent standing right in front of them. This has happened to all 3 QB’s this year. At Minnesota, Sims couldn’t see our TE, #87 standing alone in the end zone with nothing between him and Sims. Instead, Sims throws it right to two defenders in the corner end zone. Haarberg did it too more than once.

My take is that Iowa 49 drops back to spy Purdy and prevent a scramble up the middle.. he is unaware of bullock on the cross route. if purdy allows him to clear for just a second more its a completed pass...

The Qbs can't read zone coverage...the Defenses know to drop in coverage, read QB eyes, and make a play. All QBs see is a red shirt and throw at that.

@@kconry3078 That's a fair point, but I am not totally sold on those cities being a few short hours away making such a big difference. Hell, let's look at basketball. Kansas is a perennial power and they are in the middle of nowhere. Sure, those things that you mentioned certainly don't hurt, but I think that there are other things that are more important.
