With the news of Javin Wright coming back, maybe a good topic to address from a health standpoint how blood clots (especially multiple clots) and playing football usually don’t go together (without getting into specific details of this particular case) but more as a public service announcement.

NU is not a good, fundamentally sound team. Rhule in my opinion is a mediocre HC. But, at this point NU cannot afford to make a change again. It is what it is.

Parity is freaking a ridiculous want in college football and stating that pretty much is indicative of how drastic the changes have been.

It's in the process of ruining what I consider college football. Shouldn't be NFL lite.

We need man to man big corners. Get Buford hartzog and Singleton off the field. Great kids, but average players to me. Great 2's but not starter worthy in the big 10

Joe Moglia is critical of the nil and transfer portal in its current state. What is that state? You mean chaos with no direction? I think a lot of college football fans agree with that take. You should have Joe back on. Things are changing so fast that an annual interview is necessary and would be fascinating.

Travis's views on bowls are too extreme. Why burn it all down? Since when did The bad boy mower bowl ever matter to anyone but the two teams playing in that bowl? It's always been that way unless it was the Rose or Sugar bowl that had major implications in the rankings. These unique experiences are good for the kids and the program... And I do agree that program should be rewarded for a success. There will never be true parity... And there never is. Some teams will get closer but no outsider will truly challenge for a title... It will always be Alabama Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia with a few different names here and there.

They need to make some changes on the special team staff. The defense backs play was soft and played way off the receivers all day. Also tackling technique was terrible a lot of times as well.

Also good to see more aggressive play calling at the end of the game in order to keep possession of the ball and run out the clock.

Defense was sloppy with their tackling technique. DLine wore down in the 4th. Good to see HH get action. He even did well blocking. I would have loved to see some type of backwards pass to HH and then gun it deep.

Hopefully we get some deep threats at WR besides Barney. That would help out Raiola. Holgorsen loves the deep ball, but you need fast WRs that can beat DBs in order to be successful with the deep ball.

There's always been a contingent of Husker nation that just loves to gripe, whine, criticize. We had a neighbor in Lincoln who just hated Osborne who he thought was an idiot and couldn't do anything right and when TO went on his 63 and 3 march through college football he still whined about Osborne. This Dr. Rob character who I know played and is now an MD(gas passer) has tapped into that group. I say no thanks why get upset and angry, ruin your day even if you won because things aren't being done the way you think they should be as you sit in your arm chair drinking a beer and yelling at the screen because you think you know better.

What sucks about the new system? Joel Makovika. Jared Tomich. John Parella. Just three guys off the top of my head that don’t get a shot. Maybe it’s improved but the days of a guy redshirting, then playing in mop up time for 2 years, advancing to starter in his junior and senior seasons are over. The consistency that comes with experience will be gone. I don’t think you’ll see another Tom Osborne style dynasty. The old heart and soul of a program is dead and we now have a semi-professional league. Always hated the NFL because of those items, so for me, CFB is essentially ruined. To be fair, I haven’t followed it in a long time except Nebraska … hard to get excited when your team hasn’t won a conference title in ~25 years. :))

Everyone focused on who touched the ball first when that really shouldn't of mattered. Gonna keep saying it the no call KCI that led to Iowa's first points is criminal. And the fact that all broadcasted replays didn't show it is really sus. They either show an angle where the tackle's body blocks the contact or the replay begins after the contact was made. Huh, weird... Don't believe me... look at the over view shot, slow it down as much as possible, increase quality as much possible, zoom in to where the tackle and returner cross paths, take note of the yellow stripe on the tackles uniform to gauge his leg position, now play and pause quickly. You can see the tackle not only make contact but while in mid air his body twists 90° and the angle of his jump changes which is physically impossible without contact. Then the returner's leg shoots back in an attempt to catch his balance making the catch impossible. Then look at the closest ref he is 10yds away with the perfect angle to see it. Not good, but no one is perfect. But since there is a change of possession this whole play is under review. No excuse.

Yeah well if you get rid of all the bowl games that's a ton of schools that miss out on post season practices and the chance to go play somewhere nice and be recognized by their fans at the end of the year. Not to mention the financial aspect that the bowl games bring to the various cities.

I do like teams hosting a playoff game... It really increases the vibe.... And it's something to play for to get the higher seed.... I think you clarified your position on bowls... Always have the bowls for the lower seated teams. Did it ever really matter to anyone other than college football and the two teams that were playing in the game? Not then and not now.... Unless you're looking for players in the portal! But Virginia and Oregon State playing each other only matter to those two teams and someone looking for some football during the holidays.... I hope we keep those games. And as we know, the extra practices are invaluable for bowl teams!
