I love the wing on the A350, its so nice. Economy looked really good, much better than the Economy class on their A330's. This route must take a ton of car hence the reason they are still flying the A350 on such a short route.

Finnair has increased the A350 frequency on the HEL-LHR route this winter to 5 flights per week. And more to come it seems, the timetable shows daily A350 service next spring. It's all about the cargo but great for the passengers, definitely one of the most comfortable ways to fly inside Europe. Doc7austin, thanks for the video!

I flew the A350-900 from Manila to Hong Kong this summer with Cathay Pacific. Loved the airplane! It really felt spacious inside. And the best thing about the airplane has to be the long wings!

Why they used large airplane for short flight with so few passangers? Did they test the plane or new crew was in education process? It is common when new plane comes into fleet like e.g. swiss 777. Their 777's did many shorthaul flights from Zurich to Prague.

It's because of cargo capacity, though when I took the HEL-bound flight about a month ago the load factor was somewhere near 95 %. They've also flown A350 HEL-BRU for cargo, but not as frequently as LHR.

Like Emirates fly their 777 on short haul as well, but in Europe it's really uncommon.

Why are they flying the a350 on such a short route?

because, the A350 will be staying on the ground in Helsinki for 10 hours otherwise (early am arrival from HKG/SIN in HEL; the next longhaul departure wave is later at 4/5pm), thus, AY sends the bird on a return flight to LHR

When AY started the widebody (A333/340) flights to LHR they said cargo is the main reason, they had similar flights to BRU but that was axed. True they now have extra A350 capacity at daytime and LHR is an important business route, the A350 business cabin offers extra comfort
