Ça conserve quand même de la torsion , faudrait faire la comparaison en torsion vs un mat alu en y allant franco en prennant l’aile, mais la torsion à ses avantage avec un feeling plus dynamique.

Là je force quand même bien, surtout le second. Le retour est vraiment très rapide, si j'ai le courage je referai la même en alu, tu verras que l'impression est très très différente.

Yohann, have some questions about Gong foils, you can probably give me a hand. Some of my collegues had bad experiences regarding galvanic corrosion with Gong gear (cheapest packs). Seeing that you have one of the top of the line packs, full carbon + the titanium fuselage, i wanted to know if you've had any issues with corrosion. Do you dissasemble your gear after each session? Many thanks!

Yeah the aluminum set is aluminum (obviously) with stainless steel screws so it's written in the manual, you need to put isolation grease (I use Tef Gel) or else you make a battery and it will suffer very fast corrosion. I generally disassemble everything (and when I don't, I untight every screw) so I don't put that much Tef Gel and never had corrosion issue even when I was with aluminum masts. I have friends keeping the full plane mounted, never heard one complaining about corrosion but I suppose they are more vigilant than me on the Tef Gel.

Hey Yohann, thank you very much for your video. How much difference does the HM 85 make compared to the normal Carbon or the Alu? Would you say it pays of for pumpfoiling or more for wingfoiling? You wrote you are lost trying to pump, because you are used to 75cm or because of something else?

Yeah I'm lost because of the length, I'm really used to 65-70 and even 75cm feels harder to pump. In wing, compared to the 85 carbon V2, the first thing I noticed is the gain on the glide side, riding the Veloce XL-H with the 85 feels as gliding as the Ypra XL with the carbon V2. Then I realized I was more confident riding on the HM, maybe it's about the stiffness or maybe it's related to the fact that it's not sensible to sucking air to the front wing like the previous masts could be for certain riders.

@@FoilingPastor I don't think so because I only pumped the 85 HM to try the test mast, I know only pump the 70, the glide gain is not as marked as with the 85 HM but it is sufficient to feel it. The frustrating part is that after 2-3 sessions it just becomes the normal and I don't feel like I have better glide when the HM, just that the carbon V2 is missing glide.

@@FoilingPastor with the Curve XL-T I suppose the HM mast is not in the priorities. If I were to suggest upgrades from I see on your 1 year progression video, first priority would be to build a shorter board : www.gong-galaxy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=12373&start=120#p157368 Then I'd say working on using less powerful rear wing : Rise/X-Over/Curve/Veloce => Fast/Fluid => Fluid/Veloce H (prefer Fluid if you surf otherwise) Then I'd work faster front wings: Fluid XXL-T then Veloce XL-T. Then going Fluid XXL-H and there I'd recommend the HM mast, 70 if you have a low dock, 85 if you need the extra length (I don't recommend the 92 for dock start)
