yes please, i was actually going to search her channel about this today. my main issue is scars/hyperpigmentation but only really secondary to ingrown hairs - i don't know how to fix the issue because aside from that my skin is a lot better. sometimes, i found because my skin turnover was increasing it would make the ingrowns worse - which would lead to more pigmentation in the same areas! it's quite tricky to combat please help!!

My mom has only used a mild cleanser which was a herbal soap earlier and since last 15 years is pears face wash, and an excellent moisturiser which was Olay without ever using a sunscreen. Till date she has beautiful plump skin and she’s 62. It’s more about what goes inside us that shows on our face. Simple food and avoiding junk. Sun is not that harsh where we live except for summers so I guess it’s ok. It’s worked.

@@kole1ful don't use too much. Use just a corn kernel size. If it's still irritating, it means you have micro scar on your face or problems with your skin barrier. Try to fix that first. Just cleanse, wear basic moisturizer (like cerave lotion) and sunscreen for a while until your skin barrier is healed. After that, you can add actives to your routine.

You mentioned that AM skincare is “prevention” but I don’t think you described the steps (only the steps for PM). Is that a separate video that you will cover the steps in AM skincare?

Does the no active list include niacinimide?

@N Che yea that’s what I essentially took from it as well. I was thinking about it like dang she didn’t specify but honestly all the treatments, actives & such she said is redundant for the AM if you’re just slapping on sunscreen to protect the skin anyway so it’s not actively doing it’s job (is how I took it) so you said it perfectly!

@@sneakyturtle2346 short answer YES: It is an active. Longer answer: However I feel it’s yes & no. Only because when I watched this (& a few other videos) she said toners that include niacinimide are fine & some cleansers & moisturizers have them too so you’ll probably get their benefit in that form since cleansers have actives in them as well as moisturizers. Unless you use a different cleanser/moisturizer that doesn’t have the active in it for your AM routine (Just a guess rn). I just am unsure if toners are ok for an AM routine? (Still searching it) I mean it could be ok, but your slapping on sunscreen on top of it so maybe if it’s in your cleanser/moisturizer that’s fine? As toning typically gets the extra layer of dirt off the skin (one of its benefits) but kind of redundant if sunscreen is layered throughout the day (IMO)😅so rather just skip it & keep it for your pm so it can have an actual direct affect on the skin. But I’m guessing that’s about where you’ll stop for the AM, so: cleanse, moisturize, sunscreen. 🤷🏾♀️ I could be wrong though. I’m still learning! But thought I’d share the tips I’ve learned thus far.

Thought I knew it all! You always offer a new lesson regarding SOC. Born and raised in Manhattan but now living in Puerto Rico, a wonderful but different tropical climate and having just turned 40, you’ve taught me so much! I needed to alter. It all makes so much sense and the consistency is admirable. You so gracefully imbed your important messages. You’re an angel!!

Can you do an am and pm routine with specific product recommendations for dry sensitive skin?
