Typically, reading food labels seem boring and complicated but watching this video made me conscious of my food intake. The food we eat fuels the body but we must know how to control or limit ourselves from eating more than the prescribed serving. Aside from my learning, I can say that this video is very entertaining because of the good visuals, brief elaborations and very comprehensive ideas. Thank you for making this video! This will surely help other students to know more about understanding nutrient labels.

This video served a great reminder to everyone how and why should a food label be read in every commercially produced food. I learned that these labels allow us to pinpoint which specific food property may affect our health the most, in regard to the quantity being directly proportionate to the appropriate number. In addendum, these rules have expanded my knowledge as to how the different ingredients of food can determine how much calories or sugar there is within a product.

This video taught me the basics of the ways to read the part of food packaging that is mostly left unnoticed: the food label or the nutrition facts found at the back. It also emphasized the importance of calories to our body and how they work and circulate in our everyday life. In addition to this, a person who wants to live healthily must know that a good diet includes a good and proper amount of calorie intake. Next time that I encounter a food products, I will read the food label to ensure that I am eating what is right for me.

I was able to learn about the rules for reading food labels from this video. The first rule is that food is a form of fuel. The body burns food to stay alive. Food serves as fuel for the body in the same way that gas serves as fuel for a spaceship. Rule number two: Fuel is consumed. As a result, energy, or calories, are produced. A calorie is the amount of energy produced by digesting a specific amount of food.

Hi. Your video is very useful. And I understand you need to times the calories by the number of servings. But if you do, do you have to times all the items on the nutritional list too? For example, I have a jar of curry and it provides the calaries 73kcal, fat 2.9g, carbohydrates 9.8g includes sugar 6.0g and salt 0.7g etc all in grams but only for a quarter of the jar. Do I have to times all these nutrients by four if I use the full jar? I can't find this info anywhere and I need to know to plan meals for my hubby who has just had a kidney removed. Can you advise me please or point me where to go for this info?
@Doctablet2 жыл бұрын
the kcal and macronutrient content (fat, carbs, protein) are all listed per serving. So, you are correct in that you must multiply the amount listed by the number of servings you plan to use. In your question, the entire jar curry would contain 292 kcal (made up of 11.6 grams fat, 39.2 grams carb etc)

In this video, there are ten important concepts to remember about considering food labels. Doctablet has done a good job in explaining how these tips work, through the use of a cartoon alien to help us understand how calories work. Food is an essential fuel to our body, but there are things that we need to do in order to keep it healthy.

In this video, I learned that food is our bodies' fuel, and that when it is burned, it produces energy, or calories. I also learnt that we should always read the food label to see how much we may eat per serving, and that we should not consume the entire box of food since it might harm our bodies.

So for example if the calories per serving is 140Kcal but the serving per package is 1 therefore the Calories is only 140?

That is exactly right! See how much you learned

After watching this video, I realized that it is actually easier to read food labels than I initially thought. I also just learned that carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are the 3 ingredients that gives us energy or calories, and that each of them are burned differently. Overall, I found this video very entertaining and very easy to understand.

Good video. Soo basically serving per container all thats listed is considered one serving? Calories for example 200 is only for one serving? Not entire package?? Anybody.
@Doctablet6 жыл бұрын
The calories listed on a container are per serving (unless the container only has a single serving in it). To determine the total calories in an entire container (like a box for instance) you must multiply the number of servings in the container x calories per serving to get total calories. For instance, if a box of cereal has 10 servings and each serving has 200 calories, the entire box would have 2000 calories. Hope this helps!
