People like to say making “good” choices is boring. They go on to complain that nothing ever goes their way. God (or whatever you believe in as a higher power) blesses those who do good things and make good choices. Sometimes bad things can happen but when you’re living a true life with integrity, you step up and learn and blessing just keep coming!! Greatness begets greatness. God bless y’all!

There are 3 doctors/friends that made an oath several years ago. They are from Newark, NJ and if my memory serves me right they are/ were from the projects. All 3 decided to go on and become doctors regardless of their "hood" surrounding. I love to hear positive stories like this. My son also has been shot at several times. He is now incarcerated, I'm praying that he change his "hood" ways. Even if he decides to stay in Newark after his release I pray that he finally realize that the streets are not his friend.
@camara4573 жыл бұрын
I’m from Newark too! I know what you mean. I believe he will find his way, he has to see his potential that’s all. Unfortunately, many from places like Newark are limited to places like Newark. They don’t know the world out there. Honestly when I left, I saw that there was a bigger world and it made me push myself even harder. Please show him videos like these and once he’s out, maybe go on a trip somewhere and have him meet professional/inspiring men who look like him. In the meantime, he can probably get a degree while in jail. Keep telling him he’s valuable and that his value is outside of the streets. I’ll be keeping you two in my thoughts

I respect it. I have a similar life. I did many things I can't take back. Through the forgiveness, strength and blessings from God I was able to change my life around. I went from jail 10 yrs ago to making nearly 200k a year. I accept responsibility for all my actions and I feel a moral responsibility to continue to try and help these young men who don't realize that there's another. And that, that way IS "cool". You don't have to be a thug or gangbanger, to have money, or meet beautiful women, or do the things you love. Doing it the right way only changes the quality of those things. Clean, legitimately earned money that no1 can take from you. Women who are intelligent, wealthy, loving, wholesome who are beautiful inside and outside. Being brought to the realization of the things you truly love by way of changing your life for the better while you otherwise would've possibly never walked that path. I have never had a better feeling than helping the ppl around want better, want more and do better for more. THE RIGHT WAY.

Man, what a legend. I bet he's going to contribute a lot to the world of philosophy with all of the experience that led him to this point. Quick reminder, that he is an exception amongst his peers. Had he not been good at basketball, had he not come to the realization he did, he would be in a much different place. He was a victim to the circumstances he was born into and was luckily able to find his way through. We need to make it easier for the brilliant people in impoverished communities to flourish so that those people graduating high-school and getting higher education is no longer an exception to the standard, but it IS the standard.
