Just ask what they did in the military and their discharge type and code and theyll say they were like human resource, mechanic, etc. Or they got a bad conduct. Theres a reason why when you leave the military they give you 2 different discharge papers. 1 with the truth and the other litterally hiding everything and they cant ask about your discharge.

Here's your actual, non-mob mentality answer. He had to follow that rule because he agreed to that rule when he bought the tickets. It's in the fine print, and is almost universal in the Airlines industry. It allows for each individual ticket to be a bit cheaper for the consumer in the end.... but you get confrontations like the one in this video which obviously means it's not worth it. Hopefully laws get passed soon to ban overbooking, but if that happens it will directly reflect in ticket prices too.

@@stevefowler5970 it was illegal to force him off the plane, the airline didn’t follow protocol. Once an airline seats you and if you haven’t broken any rules, the only way they can get a passenger off is to offer compensation and wait for volunteers. The reason they didn’t do this was because the situation wasn’t approved by the airline to offer compensation. Basically the airline workers wanted to help out a fellow employee and picked the Asian dude. This is why United settled out of court immediately. They had nothing to stand on. The only person who followed the rules that day was the passenger.

@@AJourneyOfYourSoul : Thanks for explaining this to us all. I did not know all these facts by watching this video. Airlines and their employees, need to be held accountable for not following proper protocol. If you want me to give up my seat, then you'd better be offering the moon for my inconvenience and time. If not, then I should have a right to say, NO, and you leave me alone. All this said however, I personally probably would have just got off the plane and taken another flight, rather than having to be pulled off. I would have litigated the thing afterwards for sure since I was illegally told to give up my sea though. I can't blame him for his stance though. He did what he felt was right, and though he ended up being battered and bruised for it, he came out on top in the end. Not the same as Rosa Parks not giving up her seat on the bus, but in a way it is a similar situation. Saying NO to unjust treatment....etc

@AJourneyOfYourSoul2 жыл бұрын
Once boarded, they must offer compensation first and wait for volunteers. If you haven’t boarded, they must offer compensation first, but if they still don’t have enough volunteers they can force it. United never did this. They immediately tried to force the person off without ever offering compensation and asking for volunteers. From the dot gov website. Before boarding. “When a flight has more passengers who are ready to fly than there are seats available, airlines must first ask passengers to give up their seats voluntarily, in exchange for compensation, before bumping anyone involuntarily. “ After boarding. Can airlines involuntarily bump me after I have boarded the flight? Generally, no. If you have met the following conditions, airlines are not allowed to deny you permission to board, or remove you from the flight if you have already boarded the flight: You have checked-in for your flight before the check-in deadline set by the airlines; and A gate agent has accepted your paper boarding pass or electronically scanned your boarding pass and let you know that you may proceed to board.

I forget who said this but there's a quote,"The worst form of dictatorship is the one which pretends its not". There is no signifcant difference between Republican and Democrats aside from a few positions which would be inconsequential to any other country. Reporters on both sides shame the "far" right (anyone outside center-right conservatism), and there is this bullshit corporate-enforced standard of diversity because showing miscegenated couples is apparently fucking profitable now. You know what runs this country? Greed. Greed runs this country. You know why some loner goes into a school and murders a bunch of people every couple of months? Because some slimey media executive wants to stand on some graves to parrot some stupid fucking agenda and make a boatload of cash. but is it their job or not? security guard is such a vague description and can vary greatly from one job to the next. for example: the guys that protect the president could conceivably be called "security guards", but because of where they are employed people naturally assume they could and would shoot you if you threatened/attacked the object they were securing (the president). I also consider airport security on a higher level than that of say a mall security guard. It really all depends upon their training and their employers. Clearly in this instance their training sucked. As did their employers as proven by the presidents real sentiments disclosed in that email. EDIT: nowhere in the story did it say that he was beaten up. It just stated that he received those injuries, which he probably got just from banging into stuff while being dragged - not by a direct assault. I know - it's a fine line, but probably not so fine in legal terms. ;)

United Airlines CEO called him belligerent. The security guards said Dao fell on his own. Thank god everyone can record and take videos now. Or else they would have gotten away with this.

I cried watching the video, too. This was reprehensible! Dr. Dow is a very kind and gracious man.

NO. You do not forcibly remove a paying passenger, who is not making trouble, from a plane. You make an announcement that asks passengers to volunteer to give up their seats for a voucher.

This doctor should get to fly for free forever, if he even wants to consider flying with United again.

I think supporting his charity with lots of money is the better solution. He doesn't have to fly with them that way.
