@meganproffitt4245 жыл бұрын
rania zahra Airlines always overbook because they know there will be no shows and they want the seats filled. That being said, rarely do airlines have to kick passengers off because of overbooking. The way United handled it was just wrong. To my understanding, the flight was overbooked and everyone showed, then to top it off they allowed stand by passengers to also board despite being no room, so they offered a hotel room and a rebooking to passengers whom volunteered to give up their seats. When no one volunteered, they picked 6 random passengers to get off. Obviously, the doctor in the video was one of the 6, but he didn’t want to get off, so they dragged him. I hope this explains the situation better. Side note: if I am wrong, someone please correct me!

The full video of this incident is more revealing. The doctor was actually on the phone with his lawyer and tells the police at one point that his lawyer told him NOT to get off the plane. The video also shows the doctor's face being slammed violently into an armrest on the other side of the aisle (you can hear the crunch of his nose as it breaks), and passengers start yelling at the police. The doctor then gets back on the plane at the end and is clinging to the divider curtain repeating "just kill me, just kill me" over and over. The video also stated that he suffered a concussion when the police brutally slammed him face first into the armrest. Oh, and the best part? They wanted to remove him so that two NON-PAYING PILOTS could get a free ride to the next airport. Good job, United.

As ridiculous, evil, and unlawful as flight overbooking actually is, why wouldn't those airlines stick to the least painful solution for everyone in such cases, which is just to deny seats to those who hadn't made to their seats yet? Why pull out passengers who were already in their seats? They literally took what was already wicked, and made it 100 times worse.
@MichelleMariexx3 Жыл бұрын
This!!!! So I do know that the reason for over booked flights is because 1)greed because they know not everyone shows up for their flight but also the plane isn’t always assigned at the pint of booking. But the rational thing to do would be deny those you didn’t get to the seat yet and either get them on the next flight or refund them!

It doesn't matter if you're a doctor, an engineer, a simple tourist or a jobless person. If you paid for the flight NO ONE can ask you to leave. The airline overbooked the flight, that's their mistake. The airline's employee can go on the next flight or stay at the airport simple as that.

@quenquen4117 жыл бұрын
nakyer, meh.... PR control, possibly because of the dragging. He was probably out after accidentally hitting the armrest. The man who drug him didn't see him hit his face either to by honest, so he probably just thought he was finishing getting him out of there, lol. And I think it was an aviation officer. It was just a freak accident to be honest. They were just trying to get him off the plane. Nobody knew he would bust his head why fighting officers to stay on. They warned him they would have to forcibly remove him and he literally dared them to do it, with words and actions. He was threatened with jail as to get him to comply without force. He listened to nothing and this is what happens. They didn't just magically "start in on him" they were called in by the airline staff. If your bosses call you in to do your "job" you're probably going to do it. They were not fully briefed on the situation either. The fact is, him hitting his head was a pure accident.
7 жыл бұрын
You can see the old guy was totally calm and collected until they started using brute force to remove him. And then when he ran back inside the aircraft he could tell he was a totally different person, blubbering and scared. For further information, "the later flight" is set on 9 A.M the next morning, this mean he must spend 1 day staying in the hotel in another city rather than getting to his patient and treat them, this is why no one volunteered to give up their sits, and the 800 $ they giving out was in voucher, mean if any one take it, they can only use 50 $ discount per flight at United only which would make them even more money in return it's a scummy thing to do from the beginning if you ask me

@ShootBigBucks Gaming Actually no, it isn't against the law. The law you're speaking of is conducted BEFORE boarding, where compensation is given to the passenger because of an overbooked flight. This poor man misted wanted to go to his work and the dragged him off the plane with no mercy I mean what the hell I want to see the police officer that hurt him dragged out of his cop car

He shouldn't just be dragged out of his cop car, he should be dragged out of his skin and bones with just his lifeless soul sitting there thinking about what he did

The cop was doing his job, I think he was ordered to forcibly drag him off the plane. Ever heard of the phrase "don't shoot the messenger"?

It already did, a businessman was forced to give up his seat in first class at united airlines and he was down graded to economy class to prioritize an accommodation for someone else.

out of all the passengers they could choose from why pick an ELDERLY man?
@Uizzj7 жыл бұрын
fjidf dfjd The people were randomly picked using a computer, if im not mistaken that is how he and three others were chosen
@sicboxing49007 жыл бұрын
thats BS, so they out of 70 passengers the computer picked 3 asians to be amongst the 4 to leave the plan? thats not random, the airline is racist for sure.
@fjidfdfjd24597 жыл бұрын
jerardo rosales according to this other video i watched the person said since no one was willing to give up their seats the security officers were then brought in to make their "selections" so i wasnt really sure

Sic Boxing if the computer randomly selected 3 blacks out of 4 that would be considered racist...asians dont normally use the race card to their advantage the way blacks do

could somebody explain why he was forcefully taken off the plane? like I don't get it, did I miss something? what I understood is that this 69 year old doctor *paid* for his seat and then (for whatever reason) was kicked off the plane because somebody else wanted to have his seat????
@APStarCraft6 жыл бұрын

Henry Lino so what? That was over a decade ago. If I bullied someone in 5th grade should I be beaten even if I changed? You have no compassion. EDIT: That news report was proved to be false. It was a different David Dao. He was innocent and even if he did commit a crime he didn’t deserve it.

"United CEO promised this scene will never be repeated, again." You betcha! Because United is going to take away the smart phone/camera of anyone who records it, so there won't be any evidence, or the Fed will find a way to prohibit the filming aboard passenger vehicles, even though they allow the public to be filmed for "security" reasons in and around their facilities and streets (and that goes for State and local governments as well). (did you notice that one of the officers tried to push away the camera phone? I'm amazed he didn't take it away)
