I am 5' 10 weigh 165 lbs and I drink 3 litres of water a day . It works well for me considering that I live in a tropical climate with very high levels of humidity.

High levels of humidity causes increased perspiration. So you need to drink more water.

I’m currently fighting a uti following a cystoscopy. I’m over hydrated now. It’s really uncomfortable, and causing nausea. I don’t recommend drinking just because you think you should be.

By the time you are thirsty it means you are already dehydrated. If you are not that active Drink 2 8 ozcups in the morning 2 cups in the afternoon and 2 at night make at least 1 out of the 2 cups with a meal. The second cup sip while you do homework, run errands, or doing any extracurricular activities that are not necessarily very active. If you workout try to aim for about a gallon.

When I started drinking a bottle of water daily, I noticed that my saliva was becoming less thick and my acne was starting to tame itself. I’m 16 years old and weigh about 95lbs so I think the benefits maybe amplified.

That moment when the lightbulb goes "bling" :) thank you. "When youre dehydrated, uts noy just water, it's also electrolytes. I dont maintain fluids. I pee about 4 to 5 liters a day and still suffer dehydration migraines about every other day. Salt water to combat my morning migraines (which are the most frequent) Makes sense. :) I'm telling you what, the morning dehydration is so frequent and severe, I learned how to inject saline into my veins so I don't feel like I'm dying for several hours. This video does help

If you drink mostly water and very little of the other liquids your body will tell you how much you need or when it's too much. My buddy drinks a lot of alcohol and very little water, she never feel dehydrated, her body all thrown off.

I agree with everything here. As someone who is a bigger person, trying to be active, I tend to sweat more. Heck I will be sitting or standing not doing anything and I will be sweating. So yes, activity levels, lifestyle, environmental factors all play a part on how much water you need

I look at it this way. Everything we drink and eat contains water. I drink about two to two and a half 5 ounce glasses of water, mostly in the morning. I also drink two mugs of black coffee, two 5 ounce glasses of Crystal Light ice tea, and two or three 5 ounce glasses of diet cream soda a day. I put ice cubes in the ice tea and soda. And whatever I eat. I think I drink enough per day.

My mother always badgered me that I should be drinking a gallon per day and I just couldn't fathom how anyone did that. I could finish a bowl of cereal and the milk in it would have me using the restroom very quickly after, often more than once. If I drank a gallon per day, I would never leave the bathroom, period. I am 5'9, 145 pounds, for reference, and anytime I drink something, I have to go to the restroom around 10 minutes later, without fail.

It's alright; if you are not super fat but try to practice drinking maximum of 8 glasses a day if might happen 💜.

You should drink water, your pee should be light yellow or transparent not yellow and should not smell

Anyone else feel so much cleaner when they replace other beverages with water? No more coke, milkshakes, coffee, tea or alcohol. None of that. Just pure water. It gives me a sense of better hygiene for some reason

I haven't drank enough water sinc I was 5. I'm always feeling symptoms of thirst, but have such a low thirst drive that I'm dehydrated to the point that even on days I drink upwards of 50oz (which is still probably not enough admittedly) I still "feel" thirsty in my mouth

I drink a gallon a day it's easier to manage weight water helps your metabolism I burn fat fast but gain fast too

i feel foggy when i drink less than a gallon a day. I usually end up with 5L of water plus some soda, coffee, etc. and would estimate I'll go over 6L liquid intake in an average day.

So just to be clear. Im 13, exercise everyday ( mainly weight training for 1-1,5 hours ) and i drink 3,5 liters a day. Thats okay right? :)

No, you need to drink more than that. If you feel thirsty, you are already very much dehydrated. Try to drink a glass every hour and a half.

Don't wait until you're completely dehydrated but pay attention to the color of your urine and intuitely how you feel. If your urine is in the shades of dark yellow to orange go down you need more water. If it is average yellow to light yellow you are doing OK. If it is clear like a crystal ball you're drinking too much and can give your body a break.

How about if you live in dry climate region? Should i use humidifier in the house? Winter heaters are very drying and i get very dehydrated in the winter. More water or hydrating drinks?

Sometimes i wish water was a little bit tastier. Even though i do like fiji water but in all my stores i can't get a package of them. Yha i also learned to becareful about how much water you should be drinking by looking down at your pee and well being a guy really helps out as one time i did drank a lot of water every week cause i have a belly fat and trying to control my sugar in take. So now instead i just balance it out to not take way the other as still we need sugar in our bodies as well.

I drink 6L of electrolytes a day and still too lighteaded to sit up. I drink until my belly hurts then drink some more. I'm so over it. Wish I could put a tube down my nose and smash in like 12L so I can have a life. My dr wants me to get a port for long term IV fluids, but I'm so scared about sepsis and clots.

@Peter Rabbit I have a type of autonomic dysfunction called POTS and myalgiac encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome. They go together. 90% of people have low blood volume and low flow to the brain. Seems a fair few covid long haulers are getting POTS diagnoses too!

I need tips on how to drink less. Those are hard to find. I drink about 6 liters/day. The problem is that i also have MS, which can lead to bladder problems later in my life, and my doctors told me i should try to slowly reduce my water intake to max. 3.5 liters each day, so that when i get problems with my bladder in the future, i am already used to drinking less. But thats kinda hard for me, i got used to drinking that much back in school (after every lesson we had a 5min break which i used to go to the toilet, pee and refill my water bottle, and i drank the bottle just bc i was bored in school). But now if i don't drink that much i get thirsty. And i don't know what to do, i just can't be thirsty all the time:/

For the average man, you should drink a bare minimum 2.5 liters of water a day, for guys who’re a bit more active(working out, labor jobs) then go for atleast 3.5 liters Women.. same rule applies minus .5 liters

so ... there is a CONSTANT Debate on drinking distilled water , boiled water and tap water. Some says distilled water is not good because the damage it can done to the electrolytes in the body.. so guess what i look into electrolytes.. it is a substances of liquid water that have a good electricity conductivity. I am so freaking confused. We know that the elements is h20. I just need some clarification that any elements than that isnt necessary or not harmful to the body.

That's the point. He IS a medical doctor, but It's not a silver bullet answer and shouldn't be taken as medical advice. Just some basic things to look out for and tips on how much water you might have too, or might not have to drink a day. Not ment to be taken as personal medical advice and if you REALLY wanna know how much water you should drink a day, you should have a discussion with your doctor. That’s exactly what I tell my students! Just look at the color of your pee! Lol. Well, as long as they didn’t just take a bunch of B-vitamins that turned the pee a bright highlighter color… or expensive pee. :-) Nicely done!!!

Hi I would just like to share a tip on drinking water. I read it online that whenever you fill your tumbler, you need to shake it at least 40 times before drinking it. It is like breaking the water particles of the water. Sooo.... And I searched it at Google and it says: SHAKE YOUR WATER BEFORE DRINKING! By shaking the water at least 40 times before drinking, it will keep you hydrated longer and will reduce the problem of frequent urination. ... According to Healing Galing, shaken water helps you absorb the water faster but stays longer in our system, thus it helps cleanse your body. Published March 21,2014. Thank me later. It helped. And I don't feel or look bloated even though I'm drinking an insane amount of water.

I'm breastfeeding my 3 month old. I weigh 116 pounds. How much water should I go for? I started working out 3 days a week (30 minute cardio and 30 minutes weight training)

I was about the same weight around the time I had my daughter. I was doing the gallon a day thing and I felt pretty hydrated. I’ve since lost the pregnancy weight, im down to 104 and my daughter is a year old and still nursing (eating solids too). I’ve stuck with the gallon a day (some days are a miss) but i feel very hydrated and make a decent amount of milk.

Im just genuinely confused how ancestors with no tap water were able to survive. If they have no running water and had to hunt for water, there's no way they got 3 liters of water a day

They did not need to drink as much as we do now. The climate then was not as hot, they ate food thats healthy, unprocessed unlike we do now. Modern man's diet is full of sodium and sugar and chemicals so you need enough water to flush toxins out.

I wish there were more definitive answers for things to help us feel better. It's always, "it depends" or, "go see your doctor." We don't all have access to doctors. In my experience, doctors are extremely expensive and dismissive and not helpful.

thanks for this informative video - recently i noticed my urine is a very bright almost neon colour - i do admit that i do drink alcohol every week unfortunately which is a habit im well aware i need to stop - however im wondering if anyone knows if this should have this affect

Longest winded answer to yeah, drink 8 glasses... won't hurt. Still thirsty... drink more. Always see your doctor. Super yellow urine - get it checked out. I HATE 10 minute youtube videos for 1 sentence answers.
