The problem is some people do take movies seriously and try to mimic in real life, which is why Doctor Mike's channel is so good as it explains what to do in real emergencies not mimic movies whose perpetual misinformation for the sake of drama can be dangerous.

THIS, exactly this, it can be quite dangerous, his channel is definitely helpful when it comes to actually having your eyes opened to what is done right and what’s inaccurate followed up with what would be accurate, and yet you can still enjoy the movie/show and laugh or feel intense while knowing what to actually do. I like Jaby's defense but I felt myself needing to say “but people can watch cool drama and may actually try to replicate in a serious situation not knowing it’s wrong”. it seemed to be his inner fan wanting to defend the movie where it didn’t really need it.

We watch Dr Mike for him to nitpick how inaccurate a lot of movies and shows are when it comes to medical scenes and to get the actual medical expertise and how things would ACTUALLY play out. That’s literally the entire point to what makes his videos interesting to watch, you don’t NEED to defend Marvel and this is coming from a huge Marvel fan. And he’s actually teaching us the correct way to react to medical situations and it’s very helpful.

mike is pretty cool but honestly i think dr hope is better at nitpicking marvel movies because theres no sass and he gives more insight about each thing, he doesnt throw anything out that the movies say and instead tries to find something in it that could be plausible (i guess because hes also a marvel fan). i guess what im saying is that i think dr hope is the better doctor to react to things

13:47 I feel like the "It's a movie tho" defense against his educated opinion is kinda invalid, because it's the whole point of the video. Like, Yes, it's a movie, but the point IS to evaluate how accurate movies are when portraying medical scenes. That being said, it's still a good point of discussion about how things tend to be portrayed, and how things HAVE to be portrayed, so I'm still enjoying your point of view. I just had the feeling you were a tad bit heated about it, so I wanted to comment on it. Great reaction tho! Loved it! :D

Yeah. The movie fails at its job if you don’t believe what you’re watching. If you know something is as wrong as using paddles on a flat line patient, then it sucks all the emotion and drama out of the scene.

jaby, him speaking/roasting about these medical procedures is his job to do in these sort of videos where he analyses MCU scenes as a doctor, he's not actually hating on them or anything I'm pretty sure he knows how to have fun n has seen a couple of MCU movies, but most of his popular content is made up of him basically having to analyse is that way as it is entertaining for audiences to see dr mike's anger towards the wrong medical procedures. it's like when you as an expert w directing, u get pissed when u see weird angles and shots in movies n criticise it but the average person can still enjoy the film and apart from those couple of mistakes, u could probably enjoy the movie too. idk if I made sense, but I hope I do.

@@ChrissaTodd Oh yeah. I mean if he's trying to do this same format with a cartoon then you know he is just doing it for fun and giggles Even kids know that cartoons aren't real. But that's not the case with movies. A lot of people believe in what they see. People reference movies like they are documentaries when it comes to medical scenes or heist scenes. So in a movie I could totally see where he is coming from. Everyone wants to know what's possible what's not and that's where jaby gets off the rail. But if Mike is doing it for cartoons that's just straight up weird. Lol

Medical misinformation is a big part of what a doctor deals with and it affects thousands of lives every year, you can't compare his "anger" (just for content) to anything like martial arts or a director about cuts and shots.

@@user-so5ix8vr6d true, that too is very important cos some audiences do tend to believe medical misinformation , didn't mean to word it in a way that he's only angry just for content, I'm sure many doctors out there get frustrated at medical misinformation. my bad. just wanted to explain it in a way so that jaby doesn't completely misunderstand.

Also in last part, it was not only about chest compression. He was in asystole flat line. You can’t use defibrillator on someone if they are asystole. You need “shockable rhythm “ to use defibrillator. In such cases, you do CPR to prevent brain damage and give adrenaline and hope you get heart to have some electrical activity.

The logic jaby uses to defend the movies could also be used to defend Dr.Mike too. The movies exaggerate for the sake of more drama because the movies are about drama, Dr.Mike pointed out the exagerations and inaccuracies of the movies for the sake of realism because he's a REAL doctor and has to judge based on real medical ways, and Jaby defends the movies because he has more of movie fan than a doctor fan. So you can also say thay they (the movies, doctor mike, and jaby) are all wrong for judging WHAT they judged with their background experiences but are also right for judging HOW they judged according to their background experiences. Now come at me all you want if you disagree

BUT when there no rhythm of beating / flat line on ecg / asystole , what is it gonna fix !!?? DC shock doesn’t revive the heart …… for that you need CPR ….CPR can prevent organ damage ( brain most imp) from oxygen depletion……and adrenaline Intra venous injection can revive heart ( not directly punching injection into heart )…… these step are so important even non medicos needs to know this

I woke up during a surgery on my arm and I think everyone just froze. I looked over at where my arm would be and saw inside. I laughed but also started crying because it hurt like hell. They drugged me more and I was out. I guess they didn’t believe me and my husband when we told them I’m highly immune to pain relievers and other drugs. I basically need double what people my size usually use. (I’m 4’11) The reason for my surgery was that I had snapped a bone in my forearm during a seizure. The one that twists. It had been fractured before but the doctor said that it was sooooo tiny that I’d have to hold it and smack the arm against the edge of an anvil with all my strength to break it. It took one bad seizure to make a snap. After the surgery the surgeon told us I was lucky to wake up. It was so clean a snap that it could have sliced my artery at anytime and I would never have woken up that morning. A metal plate, 6 screws, and a scar that I get glared at for by a few people. Worth it to be alive. But yeah, waking up to see your arm sliced open and seeing your bone and muscles is a bit freaky.

I respect his defense of the movie. I just agree with Dr. mike that movies should be more medically accurate because there are many people who will see things like this in these movies and then think it's medically accurate. Like for shows like Grey's Anatomy and General Hospital or any show like CSI or Law and Order, when there are characters who are doctors involved, it doesn't make since for them to be medically inaccurate and show medical misinformation. And as for Mr. Strange, he is a doctor so it would make since for the info to be accurate. Like when she grabs the paddles, although I understand they did that for the intensity, I feel the chest compressions would be just as intense. Obviously she wouldn't be allowed to push too hard because if you are actually giving chest compressions, it's normal for ribs to break, that just means you're doing the chest compressions correctly. But like I said, I respect his view on it, I'm just implying that for many people who have knowledge about the medical accuracy, when medical misinformation is shown it can be a turn off for some. Or some people will think it's medically accurate and copy what they've seen on someone who might be injured/dying/dead.

Pretty sure it's due to a specific gene in the human body btw, but it usually occurs from natural sunlight instead of man made lights.......but idk. Lights do really make people sneeze... They are also referred to as sun sneezers because often these people would at the sky at any given time and they would sneeze...and yes, Sun sneezer is an actual term

Lights do make me sneeze. Whenever the sun is too bright and I suddenly step out of the room directly, I sneeze.

It's a movie yes but some directors will sometimes try to do some scene that are accurate to real life and even with that it's not so accurate with actual experts on those subjects

Oh gosh, stop whining so much here Jabs... Doctor Mike never said that he doesn't like the movies, his aim is just to spread correct medical knowledge using pop culture so that it reaches out to more people.

Lights do make some people sneeze... Sudden lights entering our eyes lead to the pupil contracting rapidly... This indirectly cause congestion in the nasal membranes which lead to sneezing. Approx 35% of the world population of humans have this effect.

In my experience, lights don't make you sneeze but you can definitely catalyze the sneeze by looking toward lights. On the contrary, you can have your sneeze suppressed if there are loud sounds nearby.

they immediately take out paddles always cuz its dramatic, technically all rhythms are not shockable and plus others things also need to be considered, but i guess accurate stuff are not fun for people to watch for example the story that jaby said regarding the size of the head of statue of liberty in the cloverfield movie
