As a reptile keeper and educator, shows that put animals in high stress situations really peeves me more than anything. Yes, of course an animal will bite you when locked in a tiny cage with no way to escape from intrusions. Snakes' go to plan is always escape if possible. They get defensive if need be.

On top of which, they make her move her head around in a way that's going to agitate the snakes. And they picked what looks like a central carpet (fine)... but also a jungle carpet (not used to people? Might well take a shot at you.) So they were hoping for what they got.

We had a security guard get commendations for saving a life. She had just received CPR training a couple weeks earlier since she was being posted in a hospital. Sure enough, a child started showing signs of choking, and their mom was in a panic. The security guard was closest, performed the Heimlich Maneuver, and the child expelled whatever was caught in his throat before medical staff even got there. Turns out the mom was a nurse. She wasn't incompetent or anything. It's just that much different when it's a loved one who's in trouble.

Oh, 100%. It's the same principle as how when it's someone else stressed out, were like "oh, take it easy, mate. Have a day off and a snack.". But when it is us, we're like "ALL REST IS A SIGN OF WEAKNESS." The closer we get to our own spaces, the less objective and on the ball we are. The more our personal trauma responses take over.

For anyone interested : The German show 'Wetten das...?' Hey! Oral surgery assistant here! If your wisdom teeth ARE bothering you, please DO NOT wait to have them looked at. As Dr. Mike stated they can cause cysts which can lead to infection, which can lead to major bone loss and trauma. In one case, a young lady permanently lost feeling to one side of her lower jaw and tongue due to the size of the cyst that had to be removed and the permanent nerve damage it caused. Please do not wait!! The consequences are no bueno.

Yes you are correct. Pulling any teeth from the mandible can have a risk of permanent nerve damage. For most people, most of the molars will be in close proximity to the mandibular nerve aka a branch of the trigeminal nerve

Would the gums being half grown over the teeth be considered "bothering" or is that normal?
@gobby560

This is definitely considered bothersome! Especially since bacteria can still get trapped under the gum tissue causing decay and discomfort.
@oki__
@oki__ 10 ай бұрын
@@cabinfever5730I’m assuming you mean the teeth aren’t fully ruptured. The typical problems this could cause are due to food getting stuck under the gum and not being able to get cleaned properly, eventually causing decay & infections. Most people need their wisdom teeth removed at some point. When you’re young it’s good to see a dentist so that they can keep an eye on your dental health & if you need your wisdom teeth removed. You might have some pains from your teeth moving but if there is pain such as aching or throbbing then you should see a dentist. It is best to see a dentist about removal before it becomes an infection like this. Hope that helps.

That Whose Line clip is a classic. The game was for her to guess who the comedians were impersonating (they were given quirky identities on a secret card), and Ryan's was "Carol Channing whose head keeps getting stuck to things." After this happened, she guessed Carol Channing, and he went, "Well, I used to be, but I can't remember anymore" 😂

For the Australian comments. "Copped a serious flogging" = subjected to a lot of force/bad injury. (flogging from when people were flogged with whips and cat'o'nine tails. "pulling up stumps" = we had to finish (in this context early). Usually meaning something happened to cause us to finish/stop what we were doing. It comes from the sport of cricket, where when the game ends the players/umpires will pull the stumps out of the ground (stumps being the upright wooden poles that make up the wicket) "Pulling up stumps"

Probably was just too serious for the format. And I'd totally agree with that. Worst thing we got here was a broken leg, with the victim making fun of the injury the day after vs a guy on spring-loaded boots, trying to jump over a car (driven by his father) coming towards him, failing, and ending up quadriplegic. There was a lot of stupid stunts on that game show, but this one was Jackass levels of dumb (I could have sworn it was much longer ago as, but it turns out its only been 13 years)

Funny story with how much the scalp bleeds...my mom was in color guard in high school and twirled the rifles. One of her teammates got hit in the head with the butt of the rifle during practice one day and started bleeding a lot (even though it was a small cut). Several teammates took her over to the ER and told the staff she got hit with a rifle. The police showed up a few minutes later, saw the amount of bleeding, and started questioning her. Then the team realized how the ER staff had interpreted the situation and clarified it was a very fake rifle and at color guard practice haha.

Hard to implement in real life… I’ll say. My mom is an ER doctor and she saved the lives of three family members now. The first was my grandfather who fell in the backyard and broke his neck. The second was my aunt who developed a tooth infection that spread to the tissues underneath her jaw and almost closed her airway. She went to the ER and they ignored the signs and sent her home. My mom recognized what was going on and insisted on sending her back demanding a new provider. If she had gone to sleep that night, her throat would’ve closed and she would’ve died in her sleep. The third was my father who about a month and a half ago had a thunderclap headache, a seizure, among other things right there in their living room. He had a subarachnoid hemorrhage. His orthodontist was waiting for his second molars to come in before removing his braces. At 17, they still hadn’t emerged on the bottom. Do you know the case of Samuel Koch? He bet that he can jump over a car on one of the most successful German television shows ever, which involves betting against the host. He could actually do it, had always managed it in all the rehearsals beforehand, but broke his spine during the live broadcast on television in front of millions of viewers and has been paralyzed ever since.

Dr. Mike at 13:38 was fascinating for me to watch. My mom is a nurse and she always sees medical conditions on people that I would have never noticed. They have pretty good cut/stab proof materials that they could have some decent protection covering their whole body at this point. That's exactly what I was thinking the other day too, there really needs to be neck guards in hockey, even if the chances of someone getting their neck sliced open is so little compared to the injuries knee pads can prevent... It's still just as important, especially now that this happened, since it's more fatal.
