I worked at The Castro Theatre in San Francisco (City Landmark 100; also, the last landmark signed by Mayor George Moscone before he and Harvey Milk were assassinated by Dan White) for many years, and one night we had closed and I was walking to my bus stop when I realized I’d left my pursue behind, so I got back as the manager was locking up, and when I raced upstairs to grab my bag, I noticed that down in the main auditorium that there was a seat glowing like it had a small fire going on. Apparently, the janitors often left notes about the flamechair as well, so that was weird. And on a different night, the manager and I were doing a walk through of the auditorium to see if anyone had left behind something to be put in the Lost & Found box, and as I came out there was a sudden burst of wind that went past my right ear and I heard in it a whispered “Mary Rose.” That one totally flipped me out.

I know how Ewan must have felt. 5 years ago when i was 13 a friend stayed with me and said that she was being followed by a thing i was totally afraid and she said i should not be afraid otherwise it will come to me. it was with me from since that day, it threw my books on the other side of my room for three days, then I went home with my brother in the evening and talked to him about it because he saw it it was not scary but he was still terrified. On the way home, I then talked for fun with the thing that should be nice if it wants to play, my friend said it wanted to play with her constantly, and that it should not scare me. since then nothing has happened, at least in my old room. We then moved to my stepfather one year later and there were two living rooms the lower one made me feel so uncomfortable, I then approached him and he said his father had died in it and that sometimes he had a weird feeling. I live now with a friend but I still have the feeling that this something that kept me awake at night 5 years ago is still there, but i hope it's not. I don't know why but a few months ago i gave that thing a name cause i thought it would be less scary.

As someone who was in a similar situation once (except for the crazy paranormal story), I can definitive feel his pain. I went to a boarding school in high school and it was the same situation where everyone left for summer break but I had to stay there for an extra week at the dorm, which was sort of in the middle of the woods. At first I thought "yeay, I have the place for myself" but then when night came and there were all these empty rooms in the dark, I was like "well, this is creepy". Of course, there was an adult (they were called Dorm Parents) but she didn't live in the dorm but sort of in an adjacent building.

@littlesmew Yes, it's much more detailed and much scarier than the movie. At least when I watched it, that's how I felt. Also if you're into that kinda stuff you should check out a mini-series called Rose Red (if you haven't seen it) which is about a haunted house. The special effects are not the best since it's early 2000's but it's spooky as hell. Also written by Stephen King.
